Influence of Social Media on Our Life

Influence of Social Media in our lives has its own advantages and disadvantages. And most of us are aware of that. One of the advantage of social media, I had recently, was the sale of our land. Because when we put a word to our friends and families, it did not work out. At the same time, when we posted in some groups and websites via internet, it was a decent sale for both the seller and buyer.
I would like to share a true incident, which came to light through social media, a rather painful incident and which is likely in news at present. This incident happened in our neighbouring district.
This is about a veterinary student (2nd year) studying in another distrct, miles and miles away from his parents. The boy usually turns up to his home, when he has a break for maybe, 4 or 5 days.
On one such short vacation, he travelled from his hostel towards his hometown. The parents were happy as he was visiting home after some days. The journey is almost 10 to 12 hours of travel.
The boy was exactly half way from his destination, when he called up his mother to inform, '"as I have some important work which just came in, I had to go back to the college". Not knowing the situation, the parents agreed to his decision, though a little worried.
After two days the parents got a call from the college, the boy committed suicide. The dumbstuck parents not knowing what to do was totally lost. This would have ended up without any issues, but the intervention of a famous news channel, flashed the news.
As his suicide is still suspicious, involving his classmates, seniors and above all the Dean of the college, the Chief Minister of our state handed over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation, yesterday.
Here, its just because of the social media interference, this case came to the limelight, else like anyother case it would have drowned. Sometimes, social media can have a big influence in digging out such cases.
This case is a true story which is now the highlight in most local television channels in our state. The incident happened in February.
