Hello guy's it's me again @solinek a nature lover, food lover, a traveler and love taking photos of what I went to. Todays blog is featuring the the Santo Tomas Mountain at Santo Tomas Poblacion Tuba Benguet. This mountain is the toppiest area at the Municipality of Tuba, here at Benguet.
Part of our work is monitoring activities of the landscape and also the wildlife presented at the Protected Area. A Protected Area is an area where are been strictly implementing to protect and preserve some part of the nature and by protecting it, we are not just protecting the wildlife but also the watershed present at the area. Watershed is the blood of the nature and without water some places will suffer from drought.
In this view you can see the City of Baguio and the Municipality of Itogon. Itogon is one of the 13 Municipality of Benguet, also Tuba is one of it. As you can see the nature is still preserve but wishing that in the future it is still preserve and less development shall be done. We must need to protect also our environment for the future and to lessen the global warming.
Here is another view from the top of the mountain. You can view the area of half of Tuba, a part of Sablan, its another Municipality of Benguet and the Province of la union if it's not to cloudy. There are time that you can see a clouds in the level of the mountain like you are above the sky. It is the same as the Mount Pulag that I mention on my previous blog but the clouds here is not like Mount Pulag that is moving like a sea. Here is the clouds are stagnant and it is best if the area is covered with clouds because of the clouds sorrounding the mountain top. This is the best spot for viewing and dating but unluckyly this place is been restricted for outsider to come. But I'm hoping someday it will open again for others to experience and view the scenery at the top.
I will introduced you to my colleagues at work. We are having our LAWIN (Landscape And Wildlife Indicator) Patrolling. Here we are observing the species presented in the area and taking records of it and also making sure that the area is will preserved from illegal activities such as illegal tree Cutting, Harvesting of wildlife and native plants for selling and treasure hunting. But we are happy that there is no observe while we are conducting monitoring in the area. We are only conducting a LAWIN Patrolling for the area that is considered in a conservation area.
This is a pictures taken while we are conducting LAWIN Patrolling. Even we are at work, we also can appreciate the beauty of nature. We observe many native birds but its best for bird watching is the time 6am to 7am at the morning and 5pm to 6pm at the afternoon. When we conduct LAWIN Patrolling it's almost 10am so we just spotted small numbers of birds. Take note that mostly you can spot many birds in an area with many fruit bearing trees. Because this area is a Pine Tree Forest, it is prone to forest fire cause by unattended flames and on purpose burning. We abserve 3 forest fire within 2 months in here.
