Hi, creative minds! It's me again Kyla. How have you been so far? My blog today would be about organizational duties.

    THE ELECTION

When I joined college, I was encourage by a classmate to fill in for a position in the organization as they are making a party-list. But it turned to be an independent election. So, I just went into what I started.

So it started with campaign in different year level. Then an election afterwards. after that, gratefully I got the position as the Secretary 2 of the Department.

This was a big adjustment for me as it did not jus mark the beginning of my college journey, but I also hadn't been in an organization before. Though I witnessed how my close friends got too busy during SHS, but I had never been in their shoes firsthand.

    THE EVENTS

As the Secretary 2, my task is to assist the Secretary 1 with the minutes of the meetings and letters, but also, track the attendances every event and their penalties and keep records with other data.

So here is our first event together. It is the department's General Assembly.

We all crammed for the preparation of this event. It was discussed there the basic information about the Department, our responsibilities as students, and the Department's board ratings. Also the Oath-taking for the positions. There, we also gave a speech on what actions we plan to incorporate to better utilize our positions for the betterment of the Department. Thankfully, it went well.

Second one is the Mental Health Month Celebration.

We conducted a PsychKamustahan, it is where the Facilitators(trained Psychology students) check on the different individuals consulting and seeking support. There, one can freely say and share what they have been keeping and begin to release the tight burdens they have. My talk with the facilitator here made me begin to let go of the struggle and burden I have been caring for the year. And, I also got to talk about childhood matters. One can do it with a trusted friend, I guess? This is also called as the "Talking therapy or Psychotherapy". We also made affirming lollipops and green ribbons as symbols of value for our mental health, pinned to each person's chest.

Third one is the Founder's Day.

This month was the most hectic and demanding one so far. We faced numerous challenges, from finding practice venues, organizing various competitions for the event, which are P.E. Demonstration, Mass Dance, Quiz Bee, Drawings and Sculpture, Bench Yell, Gaya-gaya Performance, Ethnic Dance, and Mr. & Ms. CRMC, to preparing our own performance, and balancing these with our academic commitments, including exams.

Immediately after the Founder's Day event, I escaped to Leyte because I NEEDED MY REST SO BAD! Our department only has around 200 students, challenges with manpower and participation is quite hard. Many students had to compete in multiple events, and officers were responsible for handling multiple competitions also. I don't know how busy I was for this month. I just survived each day until it was done.

Fourth one is the, R&R or Rest and Relaxation for the Department after a job well done for the Founder's Day. But of course, it's not applicable to us, as we are still the ones in charge of this. There were games and other fun activities.

Fifth event we participated in was the Christmas party for the institution's Faculty and Staff.

This was a fun one. Me and my friend Elisha who is our Mass Media Officer 2, was appointed for preparing the games. I think the teachers had fun during it. We prepared for the Decorations, the Program, the gifts, their Catering service for foods, and their Departmental Jingle Dance. It was a good celebration to acknowledge and reward their efforts for the institution's sake throughout the year.

The last one we've been into so far is the Ms. Libertad.

Each department in the institution must have a representative to participate in this pageant competition.. I wasn't really on hand for this as we were busy for our finals. But, Elisha and I were in the actual competition again as an assistant for the candidate and the student handler.

    THE RELAXATION

And here we are now, finally rewarding ourselves for successfully completing all our responsibilities for the 1st Semester. Here are my ever active co-officers. I had a fun time on this hangout. Freely releasing all the tiredness I've been into. Being with them, feels like I was hanging out with older siblings.

    MY REALIZATIONS

Joining an organization without any experience taught me great lessons. I learned not only about the system and backstage operations for each event but also about self-discipline, especially in managing my thoughts. There were moments when I wanted to rest and pursue personal interests, but I need to set it aside. Tensions were inevitable especially when the entire team felt burnt out. So, disciplining and controlling myself was crucial. This experience also honed my time-management skills, teaching me to prioritize major and minor tasks effectively and use my time efficiently. Sometimes, I had to temporarily prioritize organizational commitments over academics and sacrifice personal time to fulfill my responsibilities. Developing the ability to "Think quick, Act Wise" a tagline of the department had helped me a lot too. Recognizing that I couldn't always rely solely on instructions. I also need to take initiative and make independent decisions to ensure tasks were completed effectively. I also learned the value of Communication and Comprehension, even with heated tensions. Problems could never be resolved with high pride and closed minds. Most of all, teamwork was essential. Despite the challenges we faced, by working harmoniously and with quality actions, we successfully overcame every obstacle.

Maybe it's the same for life too. Move with such grit and courage, believing it will all be surpassed. By not giving up and consistently putting actions with wise decisions, the goal will never be impossible to reach.
