Why do people isolate themselves? This is a thought provoking question. One thing I'm certain of is, there's surely no smoke without fire, as many people react to life base on their experience.

Nobody love to be misunderstood. Many people go back into their shell once they notice they are misunderstood. There are people who don't feel inclined to explain their every move to others so they feel uncomfortable when they think that they are being judged, or people question their every move.

Still, others were actually born as introvert, they do not fancy so many social gatherings and would rather prefer to be left alone.

Based on a survey I carried out recently. People will rather isolate themselves than open up to people because of fear.

Fear of being hurt, mocked, ridiculed and so on. A lot of people have trust issue and that's as a result of their encounter with different people. This have made them choose to keep things to themselves. They don't want to be aired out or belittled.

Others find isolation as a means of healing, coping mechanism or a way of being defensive.

Like I said earlier, everybody have their motive of doing what they do.

Regardless of how much people think isolation helps then feel, it's still no good for the soul.

There are times when we really need someone and isolation feels like deprivation. One who isolate themselves deprive themselves of a good social life.

True, isolation at times helps one to gain self-respect but there are limit to everything. One should know where to draw the line to avoid repeating history.

Isolation can be likened to saying because a driver can be involved in an accident, so they'll rather choose not yo drive at all, so that they stay safe.

We can't deprive ourselves of the gift of togetherness because of our last experience. That's why we need to find healing at all cost. We should stop walking about with our emotional baggage no matter how hard it is for us.

When we heal thoroughly, we let go of all our hurtful experiences that has molded us to be a different person. We try our best to enjoy the good things of life even though we know we might still get hurt along the line.

Friendship, love, bliss, are all gifts from above. It might take us a while to find genuine souls which we can enjoy this gift with, but trust me, one genuine person is all we need to see things differently.

They come into your life and make you realize that life isn't meant to be lived alone. It Is meant to be shared and memories are meant to be made.

In all, we realize that some people just come into our lives and teach us lessons but regardless of how bad they make us feel.. We remember that life is meant to be lived to the fullest and whether they are a part of our lives or not.. Life goes on!
