Recommendations for famous places to eat on Google Maps can sometimes be right or wrong. What I often do is search for food on Google Maps to get recommendations from the ratings given by reviews. Have you ever gotten the wrong recommendation on Google Maps? Let me know!

Indeed, it is luck when we get recommendations on the internet and they happen to match our tastes. Like this time, on a super busy morning, I took the time to wake up early for something, namely breakfast like a local resident in Singapore.

Getting a review made me quite curious, I went to this place at 06.30, the sky was still very dark and that probably made me a little afraid to leave the hostel. But believe me, Singapore is not scary and tends to be safe for women. After taking 1 bus stop, I walked and found the place recommended by Google Maps.

I thought because it was still very early in the morning, they weren't open yet, but it turned out they were ready to receive visitors even though I saw that several chairs and tables still looked folded and messy. It seemed like they had just opened the shop and hadn't made any preparations, but there was no way they could chase me out. The seller was very friendly and I was given a chair and a table that had been cleaned.

Asking in my limited language, I asked for a special menu to be made for me, of course the key words were 'breakfast like a local and I asked for something special because I come from outside Singapore'. They offered me a breakfast package which contained 2 half-boiled eggs, rich toast and coffee with milk. Wow, I was shocked because this was enough for me to eat alone.

I waited quite a short time for all the food to come, only 5-7 minutes, I was served eggs, coffee and kaya toast. Although this seems to be a very standard breakfast in parts of the Asian continent, I don't think I've ever done this before. Never imagined eating kaya toast in the morning and coffee like this.

This protein-rich egg surprised me because it tastes delicious, even though it should be like eggs in general. The medium level of doneness and delicious taste mixed with soy sauce and pepper made me addicted. Making half-boiled eggs like this is definitely very difficult and requires precision when boiling. I do this often and the eggs I make are actually like normal boiled eggs.

Then with a glass of coffee and kaya toast, this is a double carb which makes me quite worried about glucose spikes, but I know that after this I do a lot of activities, so I'm not too worried. Moreover, enjoying carbohydrates in the morning is enough to make my blood sugar increase.

Because I had eaten 2 eggs at the start of the meal, I was very full and asked for the coffee to be wrapped in plastic so I could take it with me. After that I immediately rushed. But did you know that this is the cheapest breakfast I have ever had while in Singapore.

See you the next time hive friends!
