The Curse of Uchitsune : Follow the Blue Flowers!

After I rescued the fleeing residents, taking refuge in Azamo Bay, I continued my journey south to Sensei Ishikawa's Dojo. There is a Musician who wants to meet me. He wanted to tell me a story that the locals thought was just a mytic tale. But he believed, this was not just a story but something I needed for my mission to save Shimura.

After some time passed, I walked from the Dojo to the Hidden Spring Forest, I finally arrived at the place where the Musician was talking. There were some local people listening to the musician playing music and telling stories.

So this was the Musician story....

Long ago, an emperor and his place were plagued by a winged demon.
The emperor sent for Uchitsune.
The most renowed archer of his time, who wielded a bow blessed by a kami.
When the demon next came, Longbow in hand, his aim was truer, and his arrow flew farther, than any archer's in Japan.
Uchitsune loosed a single arrow, it pierced the demon's heart.
As it fell to the ground, it cursed Uchitsune with its final breath.
Soon after Uchitsune saw the forms of the demon everywhere.
His legendary bow never missed.
But each arrow that hit it's mark was met with a very human scream.
The trail of bodies led to his capture.
Though many called for Uchitsune's death, the emperor felt pity for him.
Uchitsune was banished to Tsushima Island.
He died years later alone and fogotten by all but a few.
The demon slaying longbow has remained here since his passing.
Some say it awaits a worthy master.
Other believe it still holds the demon's curse.

After the Musician finished talking, I took a picture of him as a memory. He shared a very fascinating story. The longbow in the story sounds so powerful, I have to have it. According to the Musician, I need to search the Hiyoshi Coast for Blue Flowers.

I followed the Blue Flower until I came across a cracked tomb. The scenery that can be seen here is very beautiful. If you are playing this game enjoying a scene like this while listening to ambient and soothing music, it is hard to believe that this game has violent elements and a very crazy amount of blood.

Without wasting time, I approached the cracked tomb. The feeling of curiosity increases when approaching it.

After entering the gap that opened in front of this tomb, I was surprised by the very dramatic scene that was found in this tomb. It was as if a story of sadness and melancholy was in front of me.

In this Uchitsune tomb, there is a very beautiful painting. A painting featuring an island surrounded by blue flowers. This is a new clue as to where I should go next.

Without wasting time, I continued to climb back up to this tomb. Upon reaching the outer surface, I was attacked by a masked man using a longbow. Thank goodness it didn't hit me. The masked man warned me not to look for Uchitsune's longbow because it was cursed. I couldn't do anything to the masked man because he was high up on the hill that I couldn't reach.

Even though my life almost ended with the masked man's arrow, it passed quickly. In front of me, a very beautiful sunrise.

I continued my journey into the forest, following the blue flowers. I paused when I came across this brutally murdered man. I pay some respect, I wish I could bury him.

Then I ran into these two Mongol soldiers, who seemed to be waiting for me. I assume, these are the killers of the man earlier.

In a fit of rage, I drew my sword, and slashed at the Mongols attacking me with the sword.

The second target, the archer, after deflecting several of this archer's shots, I ended his life with a killing blow on him.

Not long after that, I ran into another Mongol army on the main road in this bamboo forest. I was behind them without them realizing it. I tried to shoot one of them, but it didn't hit the target. Eventually they realized my presence, so a fight was inevitable.

The first victim was an archer. This archer was cut very badly. His whole body was covered in blood.

As I ended the life of the second archer, the two-sword army took the opportunity to cut me down. He made it, but it was only a small cut. Meanwhile, the army with shields and swords ready to attack me.

The soldier with two swords was finally cut down to the end of his life. Leave the shieldman who is ready to fight.

It's funny because before I could start the fight with the shieldman, two of his friends who were watching from afar ran away and hid behind a rock. They were terrified by my deadly sword style.

The Shieldman couldn't wait to fight me. So without wasting time, I danced with him for some time to see if his two friends who were hiding came to help or not, the answer = no. So I ended his life.

After that I moved quickly towards the two Mongol soldiers who had fled earlier, I kicked one of them. For someone in fear, I was amazed that he was able to dodge my kicks. Meanwhile, his one friend did not come to help, but was still in fear.

In the end he was honorably killed. At least even though he was afraid, he was killed with a sword in the field of battle.

This last army's dual sword technique is very unique, I love it. But it's easy to avoid, let alone in a 1 vs 1 fight.

My sword pierced right through the middle stomach. Blood gushes out profusely. Thus ended the fight this time.

I continued on my way, following the blue flowers. The view is getting more beautiful. The scene is getting bluer.

Then I arrived at the edge of the cliff. If you fall you will die. I see an island surrounded by blue flowers down there, yet I'm up here. I need to find a way to get down.

I managed to find my way down. From this place, you can see the island surrounded by blue flowers and the blue sea. So blue, so beautiful.

After swimming and arriving at the island, I took a picture of the scene in front of the cave located at the front of the island. This view is very reassuring.

Then, I entered the cave door behind me. I saw a drum and a blue painting placed in this cave.

Right after I came out of the cave, the masked man appeared again and tried to shoot me with his arrow. This time, he still failed. He gave the same warning, stay away from the Uchitsune longbow or Tsushima will be destroyed.

I came across a brutally murdered corpse. I stop for a moment and pay respect.

I continued my journey towards the mountain surrounded by blue flowers. If I'm not mistaken, from the island to the mountain, the distance is within 500 meters. In the middle of the road, I ran into another Mongol army. A fight ensued.

Seems like the Mongol army was carrying supplies back to their base. They were very unlucky today, I found many dead bodies killed, so no Mongols would survive if they ran into me.

Not only the Mongol army, in fact, I also faced an army of bandits on my way to the mountain.

Finally I arrived at the foot of the mountain surrounded by blue flowers. Beautiful view during sunset.

I got off the horse and started my journey on foot up the mountain.

When I picked up the longbow, suddenly a cloud of smoke came out from where the longbow was placed. I'm down to another realm.

I hate to say this, but this tale of Uchitsune's Longbow will be continue. Next post. I will be facing demon to break the curse and become the worthy master of the Uchitsune's Longbow.
