I awoke slowly this morning, a change from the abruptness of the early alarm I set during the working week - I don't know why I bother because I'm always awake before it goes off anyway - and I took my time getting out of bed. A slow start for certain but a nice organic wake-up, unforced and somewhat lazy, to a Saturday and three-day weekend ahead that holds no real plans for me other than relaxation...and a pretty special dinner and evening planned by my partner on Sunday night.
The last few days have been very hot, something which drains my energy, and the next few are also going to be a little warm too so I won't be doing much outside other than watering the garden once the sun dips low and it's somewhat cooler. Inside with the air conditioning on is where I'll spend most of the weekend, I have my books - one to finish and another to begin is the goal this weekend - and it's a Formula One Grand Prix weekend so I'll be watching some motor racing as well. Other than that, I'm still working through episodes of Alias for the umpteenth time, love it, and have some writing to do, a few passages if text I want to sharpen up for my book - not much will be happening besides that really, just relaxation.
I think it's important to have weekend like this, largely unplanned and without any real pressure to do much; some may think of it as boring but for me it's rejuvenating, I suppose because my life is usually so fast-paced. It's nice just to let time move on as it will and to indulge in relaxing activities and things that hold no urgency, doing you think?
