Mika is our Shitzu-Maltese who will be 2 years old in June. This week had so much rain that we had a lot of time in the house to play. If you are a pet owner you can understand how your heart melts when your pet becomes such an integral part of your life.
Mika thinks we are her playmates and wants attention all day long.
I was sitting in my recliner for a break in the afternoon, I had been cooking meals all morning, and Mika brought me a toy to play.
She is rolling on her back and begging me in the above photo. I told her I was tired, but she didn't want to hear that.
She kept rolling from side-to-side at my feet begging.
She started whining and barking until I finally picked up her toy to throw it across the room. I know I should not cave to her demands, but, how can you resist those cute antics?
In between tossing the toy, she decides to chase her tail. I always find it comical because she has a hard time catching it.
Success!
When my husband came down to join us it was his turn to get in on some playtime. She brought him her octopus toy which she loves to play tug of war with. Ha, he thought he would get a chance to relax and read, but not! Mika wasn't finished yet.
Finally, our little girl was tired out and she curled up in my lap for a nap. Needless to say, we adore this little girl. I can't imagine our life without her filling our day with love and companionship.
Sometimes I ponder how much I appreciate the unconditional love our dog shows us, then, I think how wonderful it would be if people were the same. Yet, often humans put conditions on relationships with others and then wonder why life throws them curveballs. So, for today's #sublimesundays post, I am thankful for my little companion entering my life.
Until next time, this is Sunscape
