Somebody's Footprints
When we went to our closest forest, we saw someone's footprints on the frozen lake covered with snow. I guess these are coyotes? The other ones are clearly deer footprints near the river because I see deer claws on the snow. I love to see animal footprints, especially in the snow.
My husband saw big bear footprints in Hokkaido, Japan when he lost in the deep mountains. I saw a bear's footprints on the hiking trails before. Also, I often saw Lepus timidus ainu (Hokkaido rabbit), Hokkaido deers, Hokkaido fox, squirrels, and more in the snow in winter. In Canada, I often see coyotes, squirrels, mice, and deer footprints. I have never seen the bear's ones yet.
I love to feel wild animals through their footprints. Their sense of direction is amazing. They don't follow the trails which humans created much. Their footprints always go in different directions. If I try to follow them, it's too difficult to climb down the hill. Sometimes near the water. Their life is very tough and wild!
These are probably coyote footprints. Where did it go? How brave it was to go on the ice like this.
The lake is completely frozen. I presume the coyote went to the other side of this frozen surface at night.
These are deer footprints in the snow, near the river. I wonder if they were searching for food, finding a place to rest, or something else.

誰かさんの足跡
近所の森に散歩に出かけた時、誰かの足跡を凍った湖の上に積もった雪の上に見かけました。コヨーテの足跡ではないかと思います。別の写真は明らかに雪の上の鹿の足跡です。鹿の爪がはっきりと見えます。特に雪の上で見かける動物の足跡が好きです。
主人は昔、北海道の山中で迷ってしまった時にヒグマの足跡を見つけたそうです。私はハイキングトレールでヒグマの足跡を見たことがあります。蝦夷ユキウサギ、エゾシカ、キタキツネ、蝦夷リスの足跡を冬の雪の上でよく見かけました。カナダではコヨーテ、リス、ネズミや鹿の足跡をよく見かけます。熊の足跡はまだ見たことがありません。
野生の動物の足跡を見つけるのは楽しいです。彼らの野生の方向感覚は素晴らしいです。人間が作ったトレールの通りには歩きません。彼らの足跡はいつも違った方角に向かってついています。もしその足跡をつけようと思うと、とても難しい丘を登ったり降りたりしなければなりません。時々、水場の近くに沿っています。彼らの生活はかなり過酷で野生的です。
これはおそらくコヨーテの足跡だと思います。どこに向かったのでしょうか？氷の上を歩くなんて勇敢ですね。
この湖は完全に凍っています。たぶんコヨーテは夜の完全に凍りついた湖の上を歩いたのではないでしょうか。
これは川の近くの雪の上の鹿の足跡です。食べ物を探していたのか、それとも休む場所を探していたのでしょうか。
