The Sacred Wahi Tapu site was next on my list to share before I travel to St. Arnaud for work. It was so hectic, that I had to push sharing about Wahi Tapu until I had some free, convenient time to share.
So from Akora main wharf, we drove a few kilometers to the Wahi Tapu site.
Wahi Tapu in the Maori language means sacred place. The site is a significant place in the culture of the Maori people, a place of reverence.

Visiting this site exposed me to a bit of history about New Zealand, and the past struggle before the country became what it is today.
Aside from the history of Wahi Tapu which is saddening, the land scale of this small village is just as stunning as all the places I have been to in New Zealand so far.
