What will you be remembered for after you are gone?

    Hello, everyone.

This is a question we ought to ask ourselves from time to time. Death might not be a pleasant thing or news, but it is inevitable. Someday, somehow, we are all going to die, and the memories we leave behind are the only thing we will be remembered for. Many died and are forgotten, but there are others that died too but still live on to this day. The memories and impact they had on the lives of family, friends, and people around them won't let their memories go away easily. If you want to live on after you are dead, then you must work towards making an impact on the lives of individuals around you and the world entirely. These impacts will keep your memories fresh.

I think everyone wants to be remembered after they are gone. Imagine how sad you will feel if you get to know you were forgotten forever after you were gone, forgotten like you never existed, became a thing of the past, and not even a single soul looks back and remembers how you made them smile or impacted their life. The rich, the poor, everyone wants to live, but only a few people get to live on In the hearts of loved ones after their demise, only a few get to be remembered from time to time. We all want to be remembered after we are gone, but the big question is: what do you want to be remembered for? How do you want to be remembered? What text will be written on your gravestone?

Till date, we have people who passed on a long time ago but are still remembered for their deeds, some heroic deeds and some good deeds. Some politicians in my country, like the late Umaru Musa Yar'adua Is being missed till date as since after him no one has sat on the seat with the people at heart like he did. He made life easy for the masses, and despite his demise, we still wish he was here. Till date, he is remembered for his good deeds. We also have people who are remembered for their bad deeds and how they treated people wrongly. You are either forgotten or remembered for your deeds.

Definitely, death brings pain and sadness to loved ones and relatives; they cry their eyes out for months and sometimes a year or two, and after that, they get to move on with their lives. The only way you will be remembered is either for your good deeds or for your bad deeds. The impact you had on the individuals while you were alive, both positive and negative, is what keeps your memory fresh in their hearts.

As for me, I would like to be remembered as a good person and for my good deeds. I have not done much yet, but I know that before the day I die, I would have achieved my goals. Make people around me happy. We cannot be good in everyone's book, but I will try as much as I can to make sure I am a good person in a lot of people's books, not necessarily everyone's, as it is impossible to please everyone.

Epitaph It is believed to have originated in Greece, and the Egyptians were one of the early adopters of the tradition; they inscribed these texts on their pyramids and grave locations. Epitaphs are texts written in respect of the dead, sometimes expressing how loved ones feel about losing them to the cold hands of death and sometimes a brief summary of the dead and the type of person they were before death took them. My own epitaph will be "He caused little or no damage while he was with us."
