Have you ever felt like everything just feels so draining and all you want is a quiet spot to breathe? That’s what I exactly felt last week. I felt like I was physically and mentally exhausted because of schoolworks that we need to comply before the deadline.
That’s why I decided to visit CS Café in Shell Compostela. It's my favorite coffee place because not that many people know the place, and it happens to be what I need to get away from stress. And you know what makes this place interesting? Because it is located inside a GAS STATION! Yes guys, you read it right. When you think of a café inside a gas station, it might not immediately scream “perfect hangout spot,” right? But C’s Cafe takes that stereotype that will surely make you love the place.
The moment I stepped inside the coffee shop, I was amazed by how peaceful and relaxing the place was. You know that feeling when you just walked into a place, and it feels like this is it where you want to relax. That's CS Café for me. It’s peaceful, no loud crowd and no distractions. All you can hear is a soft music playing inside the place, and ofcourse, the smell of coffee brewing.
Also, the coziness of the whole area never disappoints, it makes me feel instantly at home. That time, there were only a few people inside, some working on their laptops, and others just sipping on their drinks while having a good time.
Another thing that I love about CS Café is its peaceful ambiance, and its minimalist design. But the view is what amazes me most, because from the balcony, you can see the sea front view where you can enjoy the relaxing sound of waves, the cool sea breeze, and a perfect view of sunset while sipping your favorite drink. It's definitely a perfect spot if you're looking for place to relax.
I didn't even have to think about my order, I went straight for my favorite matcha frappe. My friend ordered an iced macchiato and a cookies and cream frappe. There food and drinks were a bit pricey, but I think its quite reasonable.
We found a perfect spot by the window, while we waited for our drinks. But when our drinks arrived, we went into the balcony because, honestly, nothing beats sipping coffee while enjoying that stunning seafront view.
As soon as we sat there, we started venting about how exhausting the past week had been and how drained we were because of endless deadlines, and group projects. It just felt so good to let it all out, knowing my friend totally got it. We laughed about how we always say we'll manage our time better, but we always find ourselves overwhelmed doing our task during last-minute cramming sessions HAHAHA. It was comforting to know that I wasn't alone in feeling this way.
While enjoying our drinks, we also talked about random things, funny moments from school, our travel plans (that’s long been overdue), and little things that got us through the week. Honestly, just sitting there, talking, and enjoying our drinks made everything feel a little lighter. It was one of those simple moments that reminded me that sometimes, all you need is good company and a nice coffee break to reset.
We had actually stayed longer than we had planned for, we forgot about time. I did not mind, though. For the first time in days, I felt really relaxed. It made me realize how important it is to take a break, not just your body, but also your mind.
I reminded myself that no matter how busy life gets, I'll always make time for moments like this. Because at the end of the day, self-care isn't just about resting- it's about doing things that make you happy.
