Apart from being a blogger, in real life, I am a MAKE-UP ARTIST, I do makeup for women for their events it can be a wedding ceremony, birthday, burial any type of make-up you want I have you covered.
I had a passion for this work when I was about to graduate from the university, though I ventured into making fabrics when I was in school but it was just an opportunity that came my way that period and I utilized it so well, that I had the opportunity to learn how to make fabrics during the COVID-19 pandemic.
When I graduate from college I wish to learn how to apply proper makeup on myself because I wasn't a make-up type, no company will employ you as a staff if you are not properly dressed or not attractive, that was my motive, though I love make-up on people and I do admire it that was when I planned to learn more about it.
I enrolled myself in a makeup school then I realized that make-up is more than I can imagine or think, makeup is very broad, and with the different types of makeup we have, I decided to go into make-up fully because I wish to know more and learn more about it.
Make-up is not just applying powder on the face alone, you must be familiar with different types of face structures, I mean shape, we have different types of faces, we have round faces which are very adorable for make-up, while we have zigzag faces, we learn how to relate with any type of person that comes to us as a client.
As a make-up artist, you must know how to combine different shapes of colors that will be perfect for your client, learn how to prep faces, and learn about different types of moisturizers and the ones that are good for different types of skin, some clients have dried face while some have oily face, learn how to get the best product for their skin type.
We also learn about skincare routines and products that can clear eczema and rashes on the face, how to clear sunburn, and different types of creams for sunburn, you can see that makeup is far beyond powder alone, make-up is so wide then we can say something about head tie.
Head tie is part of makeup too, how to style your gele in different styles, how to pleat it and make it look so nice and lovely is also part of makeup. When we talk about make-up in this generation it is so lucrative, ladies will always do make-up for weddings, birthdays, and even outings. Ladies go the extra mile to look good on their big day and this is what we do as makeup artists to survive.
Being a makeup artist is awesome, I get to visit different places because I do get clients outside my state and I love to travel especially when work is involved, I have been to both rural areas that I fight for network every day and also to places where is so fun and I enjoyed myself, it is in two ways, is either good or bad.
I love what I choose because I have passion for it and I am blessed today to be who I am through this lovely skill that I chose.
If I had the chance to change my Job
If I had the chance to change my skill, it would still be makeup, but this time it would be an upgraded one, it will be one that would be different from facial beauty, I want to learn about dramatic makeup, where I can draw crocodile with my makeup kit and also the type of makeup the actors use in movies, like how to make scary make-up and so on.
