Greetings handicraft lovers! Welcome once again to my Bricolage DC workshop. This time I would like to show you my fan art on the Baron's Bounty special edition Bitcoin Halving card. Join me to see the creative process of this doodle with the Zentangle technique.
In the advertising for the promotion of the event, they created a colorful flayer that I really liked and it was the one I took as inspiration to make this Pop Up work.
Materials:
For this work I used black and white opaline cardboard, black gel pen with 0.5 mm tip, acrylic paints in neon shades of blue, purple, orange, yellow and pink, brush tip markers in light blue and navy blue, purple, orange, yellow and pink, glue stick, scissors, pencil and metric ruler, gold acrylic paint and a wooden stick.
I started by dividing the white cardstock into segments to add the colors just like the promotional image.
Then with the markers I made some lines for the shadows. And then I gave it a coat of paint in the same color as the marker.

Once the paint was dry, I began to do my tracing with the Zentangle technique. I used a different design on each color. This was not only fun but also relaxing for me.
I then folded the cardstock with the design on the inside and with the scissors made 4 cuts which I then folded inward so that the drawing would be in high relief when I opened the pages.

Then it was time to work on the letter character. I wanted to do it all in black and white to respect the Zentangle style. I started by making the pencil drawing on the white card stock.
Arrived with the pen, I outlined the entire edge and filled in with some Zentangle style strokes.
Once I filled in the whole drawing, with the help of the wooden stick, I applied gold on the edges of the costume and the jewels of our character.
I then glued the cardstock with the design onto the black opaline cardstock. The glue stick is ideal for this.
I made some strokes with the wood crayons on the black cardstock. That gave depth to the design.
Finally I cut out the character and glued it onto the tabs of the patterned cardstock.

About the Zentangle technique
I discovered this technique a few years ago. To be honest, I loved it from the moment I saw it. What I like most about using this technique in my works is that it fits perfectly with my doodling style.
We can all practice this technique and we will never have identical designs because it brings out a unique style in everyone.
I like to constantly study designs and especially how to achieve symmetry and depth which is the most beautiful thing about the designs. I confess that still, after so much time doodling, symmetry is one of the most difficult things for me, but with study and practice I know I will improve my doodles.

Garabateando Splinterlands: Baron's Bounty con la técnica de Zentangle y Pop Up
Saludos amantes de las artes manuales! Sean bienvenidos una vez más a mi taller Bricolaje DC. En esta oportunidad me gustaría enseñarles mi fan art sobre la carta Baron's Bounty edición especial del Bitcoin Halving. Acompáñenme a ver el proceso creativo de este garabato con la técnica de Zentangle.
En la publicidad de la promoción del evento, crearon un flayer colorido que me gustó mucho y fue el que tomé de inspiración para hacer este trabajo Pop Up.
Materiales:
Para este trabajo utilicé cartulina opalina de color blanco y negro, bolígrafo de gel color negro punta 0.5 milímetros, pinturas acrilicas en tonos neón colores azul, violeta, naranja, amarillo y rosa, marcadores punta pincel en colores azul celeste y marino, violeta, naranja, amarillo y rosa, pegamento en barra, tijera, lápiz y regla métrica, pintura acrílica color dorado y un palito de madera.
Comencé dividiendo la cartulina blanca en segmentos para agregar los colores igual que la imagen promocional.
Luego con los marcadores hice algunas lineas para que quedaran de sombras. Y luego le di una capa de pintura del mismo color del marcador.

Una vez que se secó la pintura, comencé a hacer mis trazo con la técnica de Zentangle. Utilicé un diseño diferente sobre cada color. Esto además de ser divertido fue relajante para mi.
Luego doblé la cartulina con el diseño hacia adentro y con la tijera hice 4 cortes que luego doblé hacia adentro para que el dibujo quede en alto relieve al abrir las páginas.

Luego llegó la hora de trabajar el personaje de la carta. Quise hacerlo todo en blanco y negro para respetar el estilo Zentangle. Comencé haciendo el dibujo a lápiz en la cartulina blanca.
Llegó con el bolígrafo, remarqué todo el borde y rellené wcon algunos trazos al estilo Zentangle.
Una vez que rellené todo el dibujo, con ayuda del palito de madera, apliqué dorado en los bordes del traje y las joyas de nuestro personaje.
Luego pegué la cartulina con el diseño sobre la cartulina opalina de color negro. Para esto el pegamento de barra es ideal.
Hice algunos trazos con los crayones de madera en la cartulina de color negro. Eso le dio profundidad al diseño.
Finalmente recorté el personaje y lo pegué sobre las pestañas de la cartulina con diseño.

Sobre la técnica de Zentangle
Esta técnica la descubrí hace unos años. Para ser honesta, la amé desde que la vi. Lo que más me gusta de usar esta técnica en mis trabajos es que se acopla perfectamente con mi estilo de garabatear.
Dodos podemos practicar esta técnica y jamás tendremos diseños idénticos porque logra sacar de cada quién un estilo único.
Me gusta estudiar constantemente diseños y sobre todo como lograr la simetría y profundidad que es lo más bonito de los diseños. Confieso que todavía, después de tanto tiempo garabateando, la simetría es una de las cosas que me resulta más difícil, pero con estudio y práctica sé que voy a mejorar mis garabatos.
