Saludos mis apreciados Needleworkers! Bienvenidos a un nuevo Lunes creativo. Me complace volver a saludarles y compartir con ustedes un nuevo proyecto a crochet. En esta ocasión se trata de un estuche para llevar el maquillaje en la cartera.

Greetings my dear Needleworkers! Welcome to a new creative Monday. I am pleased to greet you again and share with you a new crochet project. This time it is a case to carry makeup in your purse.

Hace unas semanas encontré una caja con algunas hilos y lanas que traje desde Perú y que no recordaba que tenía. Me emocioné mucho cuando encontré 3 ovillos de este material mezclado que me gusta tanto. Se trata de una lana de tres hebras de diferente grosor y textura que juntos crear un material muy lindo para tejer proyectos como bolsos, carteras y estuches.

A few weeks ago I found a box with some yarns and wools that I brought from Peru that I didn't remember I had. I was very excited when I found 3 balls of this mixed material that I love so much. It is a wool of three strands of different thickness and texture that together create a very nice material to knit projects like bags, purses and cases.

Mientras ordenaba mi cuarto estaba pensando que me gustaría hacer con este material. Debía ser algo que le pudiera dar utilidad y sacar el mayor provecho, ya que este tipo de hilo no se consigue en mi ciudad. Fue así como, al darme cuenta de que mi estuche de maquillaje ya estaba un poco deteriorado decidí poner manos a la obra y tejerme un nuevo porta cosméticos con este lindo material.

As I was tidying up my room I was thinking about what I would like to do with this material. It had to be something that I could use and make the most of, since this type of thread is not available in my city. So, when I realized that my makeup case was already a bit deteriorated, I decided to get down to work and knit myself a new cosmetic case with this beautiful material.

Para darle mayor firmeza al tejido y por ende mucha más resistencia al estuche, decidí tejerlo usando un cordón de algodón por dentro del tejido. Como el material tiene tres hebras tuve que usar una aguja de aluminio del número 4 para poder tejer de manera más fluida. Tejí todo el porta cosmético en espiral usando solo puntos bajos, hasta obtener el alto deseado y para cerrar tejí tres vueltas en un color fucsia para darle un toque más femenino .

To make the fabric firmer and therefore much more resistant to the case, I decided to weave it using a cotton cord inside the fabric. As the material has three strands, I had to use a number 4 aluminum needle to be able to knit it in a more fluid way. I knitted the whole cosmetic case in a spiral using only single crochet, until I reached the desired height and to close I knitted three rows in a fuchsia color to give it a more feminine touch.

La parte tejida ya está completa, solo falta colocarle un forro resistente y un buen cierre, pero eso lo estaré completando en el transcurso de la semana. Lo bonito de este proyecto es que pude volver a tejer después de varias semanas de reposo. Extrañaba mucho poder tomar una aguja y crear algo desde cero. Me despido por hoy, deseándoles una semana genial llena de bendiciones.

The woven part is now complete, just need to add a sturdy lining and a good zipper, but I will be completing that later in the week. The nice thing about this project is that I was able to knit again after several weeks of rest. I really missed being able to pick up a needle and create something from scratch.
