Truly, women have been stereotyped to love shopping more than men, but have you seen men that shop, the reason why we feel that men are not addicted to shopping items is because they order online. One time I was with a friend and I saw him shopping online using the AliExpress platform, checking his cart was items worth almost 500k. For a fact, women love to wake up in the morning, dress up and walk into that store to select and see for themselves what they would love to purchase and just enjoy the whole thing. I also feel that there are different reasons why a woman loves shopping.
One common reason why women shop is because they see it as a leisure activity or a way to socialize. For many, shopping is a social activity that provides an opportunity to spend time with friends or family , these most women don't go shopping for items, clothes, jewelries, shoes, bags, hairs and all in isolation. They go in group of friends so that they can have fun and enjoy the shopping rather than making it boring by going alone. Just like we see on social media, groups of ladies displaying picture of shopping bags having fun and all,
Another reason why women shop is a means to bond over shared interests and experiences. This is possible by exploring shopping complexes or boutiques together, its always interesting to try on clothes where your other fellow women exchanging opinions on fashion trends, and give each other advice on purchases. I remember a time I followed a friend to buy hair from an hair store in Lagos, when we got there, we saw a lot of options that it was hard to choose. But when we joined heads together we had to conclude that as a working lady who does a 9-5 job , she should go for something sleek and classy. In view, we can see that women shopping can provide opportunities for conversation, laughter, and building deeper connections with friend.
Shopping can bring about exploration and discovery, for me as a woman, I love to try out new brands or just know and see what is trending. No doubt we find shopping as am adventure to discover unique and interesting products. Also , I feel shopping is a means to de-stress, I watched a movie where the lady was stressed out and all she did was take out her credit card, dressed up stylish and bought a lot of stuffs from the store.
Some activities are good for our health just like the shopping, it could be for discovery, exploration, stress relief, social activity, accomplishment and so on and for others, it could just simply be a practical necessity to purchase essential items like clothing, groceries, or household goods.
