Clifford Smith: Who Should We Trust?

Many people feel so pressured by the expectations of others that it causes them to be frustrated, miserable, and confused about what they should do. But there is a way to live a simple, joy-filled, peaceful life, and the key is learning how to be led by the Holy Spirit, not the traditions or expectations of man.

Who should we trust? The preacher/politicians who look into our eyes to say what we would like to hear? Our society, who finds fault in us? The world that is long gone towards true love, kindness, and realness? Or ourselves?

    Who should we trust?

Life is filled with so much that makes us want to whine because it is unfair to us. Sometimes, we get confused about why this and that are on to us when we are doing things right. It gets us on the edge and makes us feel like we are not doing enough when we are.

The expectations we sometimes have of ourselves due to society are one thing among others that makes us live a miserable life. We begin to question everything we've been doing so far. We see ourselves as failures, and these thoughts dampen our spirit. Sorrowful days become our embassy because of the power we've given to others.

When I look at 90% of the problems of our world, it pains me to see it all boils down to contentment. The fact that there's no satisfaction has made some people worse than the devil. Killing, robbery, and fraud. All for what? Fame and money. I have never seen someone who became a ritualist because they are satisfied with what they have.

I know some may say, "Humans are insatiable" in this context, and yeah... I get it. But must you hurt someone else to get what you want? It is confusing to me that a human like I will look at another human and inflict pain on them. Where's your heart? The same blood you have in your vein is splattered on the wall or ground of your room or a secret place, and you aren't even moved by it.

I don't get it, please... It is confusing to call those people humans because they have no feelings. This brings me to the world of politicians. Sometimes, I wonder how we got here. To this hell on earth. I have never seen a good politician who truly care for people except the only President I know and many Nigerians would agree with me that President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua was a gem and a president every country deserves. People like him made politics a sweet talk.

But, ever since his demise, I haven't found a true politician/leader who is ready to serve the people. Prices of commodities have risen above the maximum pay of average workers, and still, our new president says we are taking a baby step when ways have been blocked for people to succeed. When I heard Binance don't work in the country again, I laughed so hard about it. It is amusing to see how the government is ready to make the basic necessity a bone in the throat for people... a very sad amusement for the people.

We were taught that the future would be bright. However, if I am to compare the future of now to the past we've had, I can boldly say the past was bright. And the truth is that I can't boldly say the next four or eight years in our country will be good.

However, regardless of everything that is going wrong in the country, I have one big thing, among others, which makes my day, and here we are...

    The sound of music!

Now, let's hear from the music, but right after, we get a glimpse of who he is.

    Clifford? Like Hugh Clifford?
