We are entering a tough second face in the treatment against leukemia.
In this stage, her immune system starts showing the weaknesses caused by chemo.
Manuela Valentina has started to suffer some infections, which are being treated now with different antibiotics. It has been tough to deal with all the medication on an almost empty stomach due to constant vomits. She has had fever and headaches. They have practiced cranial CT scan.
We are still waiting for the official assessment of the results.
They also ordered some hemocultures, whose results won't be available for at least 3-8 days.
These tests are very expensive and we have been able to cover them only thanks to everyone's support.
Mom and dad keep watching over but due to health concerns, only one of us can stay at night.
Tiredness is taking a toll on us all, especially on mom, who is carrying the heaviest load and responsibility. Medical personnel do what they can with limited resources and relatives of patients must stay on watch in case of any contingency and to monitor treatments.
Last night was not a good night. Vomits, headaches and dizziness kept them awake all night. Today there are more tests to run. Hopefully it will be a better day.
