Hello, Hivers of the world... Entering the special region of Yogyakarta means that we can't miss the various culture-based performing arts that are held every weekend at Prambanan Temple. I've known about this temple since I was a kid thanks to my father who took me on excursions. Not to mention, the legendary story about the origin of the creation of Prambanan which is said to have originally been a number of a thousand temples due to the request of the beautiful queen Roro Jonggrang.

Aside from the legendary Roro Jonggrang and Bnaudng Bondowoso, there is also a dinner package every Friday night that features a Ramayana ballet titled SHINTA OBONG.

Fans of Ramayana stories will know the tragic end of the beautiful queen Dewi Shinta who had to show her devotion by burning herself. This timeless story is certainly a cultural remnant that must be continuously preserved.

Luckily, my cousin's sister was cast as Shinta on the night of the performance. So, because I happened to be in Yogyakara, I finally took the time to visit to watch the dance performance on the terrace of Prambanan temple.

Since that afternoon I was in the city centre, while the distance to Prambanan was about 20 kilometres, I immediately rushed to get ready and ordered online transportation to arrive quickly. Unfortunately, from midday to evening, the city of students was raining. However, that didn't stop me from heading to Prambanan.

The journey of less than an hour was finally over. I quickly headed to the dressing room to see my cousin sister getting ready for her Shintanya character. Not only that, I also met her youngest daughter, Shita or Lakshita. She was only in kindergarten, but Shita was already following in her mother's footsteps in the world of dance.

After all the dancers were ready and prayed together, all the dancers headed to the arena which was moved from the original venue because the rain was still very heavy. Me and Shita followed her mother from behind.

After the SHINTA OBONG performance was over, we went backstage and now it was Shita's turn to be part of the Legend of Roro Joonggrang performance. For this performance, fortunately the stage was in a grandstand-style room, so it was very comfortable and there was no worry about the weather.

Shita was the smallest dancer in this performance and she played the role of a little ghost who would wait for the meditation process of Bandung Bndowoso. Shita was adorable with her costume and scribbles on her face. She is very active and fun. It was the first time we met but we already got along very well.

After the meeting, I promised to come back to Ygya just to meet Shita. I will miss you, Shita.
