War of any form is what no one should pray for neither to witness, communal war became that dangerous as it's the closest form of war in which two or more communities involved which usually arise from dragging of land boundaries, natural resources or ancestral agreement. It's easier to survive war that breaks out between two countries than surviving the calamities and consequences as the result of communal war between two communities sharing boundaries together.
Certainly, they all know each other, share things in common but when eventually involved in communal crisis, it became difficult to estimate the kind of damages, killing and destruction that will mail out. The kind experienced I had in 2005 when my village and the next community involved a serious communal clash is not something I would wish anyone to witness, neither want it to happen again. I became an animal, I slept in bush for more than three week, I had no good food, only left with just cassava, palm kernel with the stream water becoming my daily food before our government finally stepped in, meanwhile over hundreds of lives has been terminated.
There's an ongoing communal war between Esit Eket and Ibeno community in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria which has resulted in so much damages, destruction and terminal of lives and properties under few weeks. Not under current Nigerian economy situation such incident should take place, the cost of living in the country has caused the living not to live anyone, the hardship shouldn't be associated with communal clashes again. Suddenly, my earnest pray are with the waring communities, I may not care about the incident that resulted in this, but looking at the refugees in time like this in a country faced with severe economy hardship, is so sympathetic behold. One may not understand feelings right now if you haven't had a experience of it like I do.
A community can negotiate anything, communal war can never be a way forward, instead of killing, destruction and causing damages, a dialogue and peaceful negotiation can be adopted irrespective of traditional, religious, tribe or language alleviation rather than unnecessary prolonged wars. The communal war broke out when some group of people of Eket and Esit Eket Local Government Areas under the aegis of Coalition of Coastal Aboriginal Communities of Akwa Ibom invaded and attack the people of Ibeno people in the early hours of Tuesday, February 27, 2024, a two day communal clash has lad to the killing of three persons and the burning down of over twenty houses.
It is a planned delineation of the Obolo people from Akwa Ibom State. We know those playing the drum of war. They must be stopped now before it escalates,there is more to it and we, the people and residents of Ibeno local government area, are calling on Nigerian President, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come to our aid
I'm praying for Nigerian state to overcome this state of unnecessary communal clashes, international communities can also be of help in settling these cases thereby restoring a harmonous, free and safe communities and states in Nigeria.
