Food Compilation Over Some Weeks

in voilk •  5 months ago

I looked through my phone gallery and saw I have some food photos. Maybe I can introduce some of these Asian fusion food here on Hive. Some of the food are from my eat-outs while one or two are from my own cooking.

Though I don't usually prefer to eat out as to save the monthly expenditure on food, I have grown very out of appetite with homecooked food.

    Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls.

These was one of my cravings in this pregnancy. I told my husband about it and actually I wanted to buy it but I felt it is a bit too expensive. So one day, the husband made it for me!! It was for his staff meal but he brought back the leftovers for me! 2 were with prawns and one was with smoked duck.

Look at how beautiful it looks! Looks like a Californian roll right?

The husband made a very unique peanut sauce to go with it. It was super duper good that I felt it was not enough for me!

    Tacos!

Finally I had my craving satisfied for tacos! Maybe I am yearning for tomato salsa. I ordered this from a food truck one night that comes wirh 3 different proteins: lamb, chicken and beef. I wished the taco shells were hard but it was the softer type. Nevertheless, at least the taste was not bad. Craving satisfied!

    Gyoza

I love gyozas!! Is there anyone loving them like me? I bought some frozen ones when I did not know what to have for breakfast on some days. This comes with the chicken fillings. The same brand has also prawn fillings. I love them because they are convenient. So I pan fry the bottom of the gyoza with some oil and after they area bit charred, I added in a bit water to steam the meat and skin up.

    Prosperity Burgers from McDonald's!

This is a seasonal menu from our McDonald's that only is out during the Chinese New Year season. It has a bit of innovation this year with some addition like hashbrowns or pineapple slices. You can choose the patty to be either chicken or beef, both drenched in lots and lots of black pepper sauce. I don't eat them every year but this year I had it. I have run out of things to eat at McDonald's hahaha. Not a big fan of ghe raw onions in it, though. Usually we order it with some curly fries which I absolutely love!

    Barbequed Beef with Noodles/ Rice

There is a very economical food joint in the malls called Johnny's. Sometimes when we want to save money and the boys need some beef, we will go to this place. The taste of this dish has never changed and it is always affordable, comes in a good portion too. We love Johnny's for their many food like fried rice, glass noodles and tom yam soup too! Sometimes I have difficulty choosing what to order whenever I go there.

My son had his with rice.

The husband had his with the green spinach noodles.

They give a special belacan sauce which is a shrimp paste made into sauce. Always love that. I can even just eat the cucumber slices dipped into it.

    Kolo Mee

Kolo mee is my comfort food because it originates from my hometown, Kuching. I always ask for it to be stirred in some red char siew sauce which is actually red barbeque sauce. Had this one night with the husband with some chillis in white vinegar. That was a taste from home!

    Inari Sushi!

I know I cannot eat sushi in my pregnancy so I chose those that are cooked. These was happy enough for me because I was having a defeated day yesterday and was emotionally exhausted communicating with some parents of my students. It was up to the brink of crying. I went to the mall and got myself these.

Lobster balls in Asam Laksa Soup

Again, there was a day I didn't have much appetite. Usually this happens in the night and though I have cooked at home, I have no appetite for the food. I bought this lobster rolls in asam laksa for RM7.90 for 5 balls and yes it was super appetizing.

    My simple homecooked lunch

I cooked this pork shabu slices with minced pork in scallion sauce with scallion too. It was good and the children could also have it with rice. Then I stir fried some siew pak choy which is the green vegetables with some shallots and topped with some more fried shallots. Simple lunch for 4 of us!

That is all for my recent food compilation. These are simple food found in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They are all within affordable range. Hope you like the sharing!
