That was a busy weekend! One of my kids turned 17 so his mom came down with my youngest and one of the other kids came home for the weekend too! We had a late night hangin' on Friday, then up early Saturday as the birthday kid had to work at 6am xD
By mid-afternoon Saturday most of us were staring at phones, so I decided to start a Halloween chalk drawing on the driveway, thinking this might draw some folks outside.
I found a line drawing of this scarecrow/skeleton type guy and got to chalkin'
I know, you want to see process pictures. #sorrynotsorry
I've tried to take process pictures in the past but I just don't do it. Mostly it's because once I get the outline drawn and I start filling it in I get in a zone where I don't think of anything but the drawing. Also, there is a layer of chalk on my hands that prevents me from picking up my phone.
So I no longer even pretend I'm going to take process snaps, don't want to spoil the magic ;)
Once I got the face outlined it took me a minute to figure out the colors I was going to use. Usually I copy a color image when I chalk, so this black and white line drawing was giving me anxiety.
It's just a chalk drawing but it takes a long time so I didn't want to spend two hours and end up with a shitty drawing xD
I was not going to draw the whole hat but the ex asked if I needed help, so I said I'm not doing the hat, so if you want you can do that. I'm glad she did, it looks great.
I got the ladder out this morning so I could get a picture with better perspective. The pictures from the ground mess the perspective up and make it look not as good.
Here's a photo I took standing at the top of the hat, the head was upside-down in the snap so I edited it by spinning it 180°
😵
Side view :D
Everyone has cleared out of the house except for one kid and two dogs, so I'm going to post this then clean up, I guess :(
