Mark 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
In the above bible passage, Jesus Christ was been referred to as a carpenter because his father was a carpenter in his lifetime.
At that time, Joseph is already dead, so people transfered the family trade to Jesus Christ.
In his first 30 years, he was known to be a carpenter, that was before he went into ministry (maybe he was seen with his father most times) because that was his father's profession.
But people later saw that he was not an ordinary man, but a man of spirit send by God when he started his ministry, preaching and performing miracles.
