My Nineties Friday Edition, Week Six!

in voilk •  2 months ago

Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is finally upon us. It feels great to have a few days with much less to have to get done. Since it is Friday I will be writing up my entry for the #NinetiesFriday contest. Every Friday you can share anything you want from the decade of the nineties. And I mean anything! I just want to say thank you @geneeverett for starting the event and continuing to support it weekly. You can win up to 6 HSBI by participating.

This week I decided to include some more Seinfeld because it was one of my favorite shows from the nineties. I'm going to have to start sharing some Friends clips too one of these days as well. Let's go ahead and dive right into the fun!

First off, anybody remember these? The good old Game Boy! It seemed like everyone had one, they were a lot of fun to play! This was way before the smart phone...

I felt like sharing another Seinfeld clip, the one about Festivus. The holiday George's father created to replace Christmas, or as he said "A Festivus for the rest of us!"

    Foo Fighters

I know I have shared some of their music in the past, because they are one of my favorite bands from the 90's. After Kurt Cobain's death and the end of Nirvana, Dave Grohl formed a new band with him as the lead vocalist. The Foo Fighters have been producing music ever since. It was a real loss when Taylor Hawkins passed away a couple of years ago, he was a really talented guy. Here's "My Hero":

    Shakira

Since I did spend most of the 1990's living in Spanish speaking countries I like to include at least one song in Spanish. Shakira has always been one of my favorite artists from the time I first heard her music in 1996, so I'll be including one of her hits from the 90's.

Way back in the mid 1990's Shakira had taken the Spanish speaking world by storm with her album "Pies Descalzos". This was before she launched here English musical career and before she went blonde. This song was a big hit of hers off of that album, "Un Poco De Amor":

That will just about do it for my Friday post. I hope you enjoyed it, these are always a lot of fun to put together. Feel free to join us and put together a #NinetiesFriday this next week. Just use the #ninetiesfriday tag and I would also do a shoutout to @geneeverett just so it won't accidentally get skipped. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. Have a great weekend everyone!

And since I am posting in the #freecompliments community I just wanted to remind everyone to take some time today to be kind. A little kindness can make a huge difference in someone's life. Please check out the community and consider joining us!

And a quick shoutout to @inthenow because I did include some hard rock music in here!
