I woke up today feeling somehow. My husband travelled to the east for a burial - he went along with some other church members. I wasn't feeling at ease right from last night but, I prayed a bit about it. However, the feelings increased, making me feel that something wrong had happened. I even had a strange dream and this made me pray even more.
I was still praying when my brother knocked on my door. It was too early and I wondered what brought him. He then calmly explained to me that my husband got involved in an accident.
My whole body was shaking and my heart was hung in my throat. "Where? How? When?" I was beginning to panic.
He then calmed me down and explained what happened to me. He asked me to check my messages on Whatsapp, because my husband had sent me some messages.
By the time I opened my WhatsApp, what I saw made me scared. He had injuries on his face and his ankle got dislocated. He was placed on drip, too.
I asked what happened and he explained that while they were driving along Benin Ore in Nigeria, a tipper was coming with full speed and was going to hit them. The only way they could escape was to move out of the way. So, the driver of the car dived out of the road and from the bridge, they landed into a river.
While he broke and another man broke their legs, others sustained injuries no so serious. One of them was passing out and they had to revive him.
Then, they were rushed to a close by hospital, where they were attended to.
This morning, they returned to Lagos. There was no way anyone could still go for the burial, because even the new car that was gotten a week ago was damaged.
I called him later again and he stated that he's feeling better now. The pains and the broken bones were the major things causing him pains.
I feel relieved that he's safe and responding well to me. Tomorrow, by God's grace, he'll return home and I'll get to see him.
