Today I wanted to share a few photos from a recent walk along the rocky seaside we took!

Seaside Rocky Walk

The beach is certainly my wife's favorite happy place. There are lots of reasons for that, but when we get windows in the weather we make sure to head on over!

A few weeks back we had a really nice bit of weather so we made sure to spend it in one of the best places possible: the beach! This was a beach that we wanted to go to as it had other things nearby that we needed to do, so we headed on over to it to spend a few hours. We also make sure to try and mix some exercise in there so that we all get a little bit of the fresh air and sunlight when possible!

I'm glad that we did do just that because now that it's a few weeks later, the chances of getting that much sunlight and exercise are greatly diminished. The weather has been a fair bit colder which is okay to me, but that does mean that you are wearing more layers and then you won't be spending as much time in the sunlight as you would if you had weather that was 20 or 30 degrees warmer. Such is life living in an area that truly gets a winter though!

The weather was really nice and the water wasn't overly freezing. This meant that the little man and I were going to get down right to the waters edge. We wanted to see how cold it was, but I also wanted to make sure I get some photos to take!

With our busy schedule lately, getting out to places that are interesting to take some photos has been a little tricky. These aren't bad things, but it's certainly not what we've been doing the last few years. This means that I have to jump at the opportunities and places that arise when it comes to photos!

I make sure to always take my better phone in terms of pictures. I know it seems pretentious to say that, but my work originally gave us phones but then there were changes and the phone plans were eliminated. That was annoying, but the good thing is they let us keep the phones! That meant I could keep a phone that is newer than the one I have regularly, which also meant a sweet upgrade on the camera. I don't have to take the thing otherwise, but I usually just take it for the photos these days!

There is a lot to be said about the peace and serenity we experience when we are sitting on the rocks by the ocean. Listening to the waves crash against the rocks is a really nice thing to hear! Sure the sandy beaches are cool and all, but to me they don't have the character or interesting features that the rocks do.

I am more interested in experiencing the wonders of the rocks than to sit on the regular old sand to be at the beach. I don't pass up a chance for the beach, but I do like the ones that have a nice rocky shoreline for us to hang out on! This time of year we even found a single crab, which was funny. We figure most of the crabs are in the deeper water or warmer water, but this one fella was hanging back for whatever reason. We tossed him back into the surf, although if we saw a seagull we would've tossed it to the seagull. It was an invasive species, so those things are always seagull food if we can find them!

This was a refreshing walk and a break that we needed. It was a few hours that helped recharge the batteries and prepare us for the long and darker days in terms of the winter. I'm hoping that we get a window in the upcoming weather to have another one of these wonderful days!
