Carnival parade in the city of Barquisimeto
Desfile de Carnaval en la ciudad de Barquisimeto
Last Monday and Tuesday the usual carnival parade was held. The carnival party and the city of Barquisimeto held the parade.
The last few years it has been held in the west of the city. On Florencio Jimenez Avenue, very close to El Sisal shopping center. From there the parade starts and goes all the way to the Obelisco Monument, where a stage is set up and musical shows are performed.
I don't remember when the first carnival parades were held in the city, as they are now. I know it was on 20th Avenue, in the center of the city. I remember the chaos that ensued. Some time later the parade moved to Venezuela Avenue, which was wider and people could enjoy it better.
El lunes y martes pasados se realizó el acostumbrado desfile de carnaval. La fiesta de carnaval y la ciudad de Barquisimeto realizaron el desfile.
Los últimos años se ha realizado en el oeste de la ciudad. En la avenida Florencio Jiménez, muy cerca del centro comercial El Sisal. Desde allí parte el desfile, que recorre todo ese trayecto hasta llegar al Monumento Obelisco, donde se coloca una tarima y se realizan espectáculos musicales.
No recuerdo cuándo se hicieron los primeros desfiles de carnaval en la ciudad, como ahora. Sé que fue en la Avenida 20, en el centro de la ciudad. Recuerdo el caos que se formó. Tiempo después el desfile se trasladó a la avenida Venezuela, que era más ancha y la gente podía disfrutarlo mejor.
These parades have been very successful. In those early years, the groups and floats that participated were quite striking. surely the economic crisis affected a lot. also, at that time, there were many private companies that participated in the parade and their floats also stood out.
The avenue was full of people from early afternoon. A small stage was set up in front of the Metropolis Shopping Center. A lot of people attended both days. Many people came with their children, who are the most excited to see the carnival show. Some of them are in costume. They get very excited when the floats go by and throw candy. People go crazy trying to catch the candy, you have to be careful because you can get hit or fall.
Estos desfiles han tenido mucho éxito. Los de aquellos primeros años, las comparsas y carrozas que participaban eran bastante llamativas. seguramente la crisis económica afectó mucho. además, en aquella época, eran muchas las empresas privadas que participaban en el desfile y sus carrozas también destacaban.
La avenida estaba llena de gente desde primera hora de la tarde. Se montó un pequeño escenario frente al Centro Comercial Metrópolis. Asistió mucha gente los dos días. Mucha gente acudió con sus hijos, que son los más emocionados por ver el espectáculo carnavalesco. Algunos van disfrazados. Se emocionan mucho cuando pasan las carrozas y lanzan caramelos. La gente se vuelve loca intentando coger los caramelos, hay que tener cuidado porque te puedes golpear o caer.

When the parade starts, it's already dark. So of the many photos I took, many were useless, because without natural light, my cell phone does not take decent pictures.
The parades were of different dance groups of the city. Band shows were also participating. The public enjoyed watching them parade, with their dances and music.
While the parade was on this avenue, other activities were being prepared in other parts of the city. On Venezuela Avenue, they had placed a stage with a show for those who live in that area and at the Monument La Forza de Venezuela, they presented other musical shows for those from the east of the city who did not want to go to the other end of the city.
Cuando empieza el desfile, ya es de noche. Así que de las muchas fotos que hice, muchas fueron inútiles, porque sin luz natural, mi móvil no hace fotos decentes.
Los desfiles eran de diferentes grupos de baile de la ciudad. También participaban espectáculos de Bandas. El público disfrutaba verlos desfilar, con sus bailes y música.
Mientras el desfile era en esta avenida, en otras partes de la ciudad se preparaban otras actividades. En la avenida Venezuela, habían colocado una tarima con un show para quienes viven en esa zona y en el Monumento La Forza de Venezuela, presentaban otros espectáculos musicales para los del este de la ciudad que no querían ir hasta el otro extremo.
These shows are ideal for those who have decided to spend carnivals in the city and not traveling. Many prefer to go to the beach, although doing so in high season is a nightmare for me. Also, the weather is not very good, so going out to see the free shows in the city was perfect for me.
How do you like the carnivals in your city?
Estos espectáculos son ideales para quienes han decidido pasar los carnavales en la ciudad y no viajar. Muchos prefieren ir a la playa, aunque hacerlo en temporada alta es una pesadilla para mí. Además, el tiempo no es muy bueno, así que salir a ver los espectáculos gratuitos en la ciudad era perfecto para mí.

On the first day there were two presentations. One by Lusi Casiqu e, a photographer from the city, who explained his work as a professional photographer and videographer at events. The other speaker was a DJ brought by NC Music. I couldn't stay to listen to the DJ, it was a bit late and I had business to attend to at home.
I don't know when they will do the second edition of this event again, but I'll keep an eye out to attend and bring you a summary.
Ese primer día hubo dos presentaciones. Una a cargo de Lusi Casiqu e, fotógrafo de la ciudad, que explicó su trabajo como fotógrafo y videógrafo profesional en eventos. El otro ponente fue un DJ traído por NC Music. No pude quedarme a escuchar al DJ, era un poco tarde y tenía asuntos que atender en casa.
No sé cuando volverán a hacer la segunda edición de este evento, pero estaré atento para asistir y traerles un resumen.
