Not even oblivion, with that permissive poison that always comes with indifference, has caused more damage to its arcane structure than those times when, for some unknown reason, the hidden values that motivated the strictly mystical sense of that sacred architecture that characterized a good part of that turbulent historical period known as the Middle Ages were lost.
Following the traces of those relics where creativity had a purpose and a meaning that goes beyond crude speculation, also means entering on tiptoe through the monumental door of access to an exclusive and reserved knowledge, many of whose secrets still remain hidden in the ineffable shadows of yesterday.
But the eye that focuses on the details knows, shortly after beginning to overlook the characteristics of this arcane place, that the same bricklayers who, later on, raised other altars, perhaps more outstanding, that today the tourist visits with fascination, passed through here and left a mark of their wisdom.
Ni siquiera el olvido, con ese permisivo veneno que conlleva siempre la indiferencia, ha causado más estragos en su arcana estructura, que esos tiempos en los que, por algún motivo desconocido, se perdieron los valores ocultos que motivaban el sentido estrictamente místico de esa arquitectura sagrada que caracterizó buena parte de ese convulso periodo histórico conocido como la Edad Media.
Seguir las huellas de esas reliquias donde lo creativo tenía un fin y un sentido que va más allá de burdas especulaciones, significa, también, introducirse de puntillas por la puerta monumental de acceso a un conocimiento exclusivo y reservado, muchos de cuyos secretos permanecen todavía ocultos en las sombras inefables del ayer.
Pero el ojo que se queda con los detalles, sabe, al poco de comenzar a soslayar las características de este arcano lugar, que por aquí pasaron y dejaron huella de su sabiduría, los mismos albañiles, que, más adelante, elevaron otros altares, quizás más sobresalientes, que hoy en día el turista visita con fascinación.
