Welcome to Version 4.5 guys! This is the major event for the update and while it's not quite what we're used to with these major events I thought it was fun. It's like a break from all the intensity and deep diving lore.
Anyway the story was very simple. You got through it in minutes. I decided to use just Jean for this one because remember last time I just happened to get Jean right? Jean also happened to be one of the characters we were told would be in this event during the announcement livestream. And today just happened to be the character's birthday too. We get "birthday messages" from them on those days, sometimes even including hints about future stories. So it just felt really fitting to have her for this one. Ok so with the story ending so quickly most of the event's about the task.
The task actually feels like a continuation off of an older event, Weinlesefest. Just like back then we're running a shop and we can get cameos from other characters as we do. You have to plant your ingredients, "mix" your potions and then figure out what the market wants to sell the right ones for more profit. With all of the tasks running simultaneously it's just a matter of figuring out a routine. So since the story ended us on Freda, that's pretty much step 1. On any given sales cycle start by going to her and buying stuff. Prioritize the planting plots so you can increase the amount you can use in the alchemy step.
So the next step is to plant stuff into those plots. Look at your inventory to see which ones you don't have and try to prioritize new plants.
After that it's straight to the alchemy booth and the puzzle section. Go for variety towards the beginning. You won't be able to make really good potions but having more kinds means you'll always be able to get in on the sales. Also do your best to fill up all the spaces. Once you get to Alchemy Level 4 you can overlap 1 space with parts of 2 different plants. This increases later.
After you do your 1 new potion per cycle make sure to hit the enhance. You should have remaining money after the purchases you made with Freda so use them on the potions to raise their levels which will also mean increasing their selling prices which means increasing your earnings in your next sales.
And that's the final step. Go to the potion booth and check the "market" and add the appropriate potions. This is why you want variety. It'll mean having more chances of having a good potion to sell. To end the cycle go to Lisa at the table. You can also use the "handbook" but with my setup you'd be there anyway so you might as well just walk the few steps to it. Once the cycle ends you'll already be in the next one so repeat all the above steps: Freda > Planting > Alchemy > Potion Booth + End Cycle at the table.
There's really no other tips to give. The alchemy puzzles generate randomly so there's no guarantee you'll be able to fill all the spots. I saw someone else get a really lucky corner block in the storymode version of the puzzle so he was able to level up from then and get the Horsetail plant right away. But ultimately it doesn't really matter so long as you sell the right potions.
