Hello everyone!
I first met Bao last year in september. We made an infrared photoshooting and the vibe was great. He was curious about lightpainting so we tried to schedule a session before the end of the year.
It took a little while, because we are both busy, but we managed to do it on december, 26th.
We met at a pedestrian bridge in front of the courthouse in Nantes. I've been thinking about this location for years so it was cool to try it finally. The idea was to draw a pattern using city lights in the background and movements of the camera/lens, and then combine it with portraiture of a dancer in full action in the same exposure.
You need to think first at the frame's choice, with enough black/empty space at the middle of it to avoid the dancer to be mixed with light trails. When everything's ready, you can try multiple times with different poses, have fun, get that kind of result and repeat it 😀

Lightpainting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera, or by moving the camera itself during exposure. Nothing is added or removed in post processing.
