Not All Bicycles Are For Stunts: A Must-Read For Stunt Riders/Lovers

I have always been that person who thinks of different stunts I can pull with a bicycle because I love the adrenaline-boosting stunt rides when I see them from afar. I hear that the fulfilment after pulling one stunt is always a euphoric experience, whether it's mastering a risky leap or pulling off a perfect wheelie. However, what I know for sure is ; these stunts, if not done with the right kind of bike, take a toll on the bike.

Think about this: An accident occurs out of nowhere when you're mid-wheelie, enjoying the feel of the wind on your face as you ride your fears away. Your bicycle lands on the ground with an unsettling crunch, leaving you stunned by the damage caused by the little mistake you made while executing your creative stunt. Every stunt rider has this fear of the mechanical failure of their bikes as they pull their stunts. You will agree with me if you are a stunt rider.

In the case of withstanding the pressure that comes when riders pull their different stunts, all bikes are not made to handle this pressure the same way, YOU SHOULD NOT THROW STUNTS ON REGULAR BIKES. This is because, while some bikes can withstand this pressure, some are made for riding around and cannot withstand the pressure of extreme sports. If you are tired of always fixing your bikes due to damages as a result of your stunt riding escapades, you should think of getting a stunt-appropriate bike.

Here are bicycles designed specifically for stunts:
With strengthened frames, solid components, and unique features meant to enhance durability in stunt riding, these bicycles are portable yet strong. The first is the BMX bike, this one is famous for its stamina, agility, and adaptability, most stunt riders choose this one every other time. These qualities make performing different stunts such as tailwhips and bar spins easy. Also, because of its strong design and parts, the BMX can withstand the rough landing and other rough realities of stunt riding.

Mountain bikes are another preferred option for stunt riders, particularly ones made for dirt jumping or freewheeling. These bikes also have very strong frames, large tyres and full suspension systems. These features provide the stability and shock absorption required to pull different stunts confidently.

I cannot talk about stunt bikes without mentioning the trial bikes. The trial bike is the preferred option for riders who do a lot of precision riding and manoeuvres, this is because of its incredibly light frame, agile handling, and fine control. Regardless of all these properties, a critical factor for choosing a bike for stunt riders should be how reliable and easy it is to maintain. Nothing is more annoying and draining than a bike that breaks down easily. Because of this, as a stunt rider, you should purchase one that is resistant to the rigour of stunt riding and does not break down easily.
