Bangkok impressions

I have wanted to write a longer post for a while as a glimpse into parts and aspects of Bangkok that I have enjoyed, and perhaps that also are not the most frequently published. So here we go!

Its a big city for sure! Since I started migrating here close to a decade ago I've gone from being a tourist staying in hotels to settling with a family and lots of pets, as well as a couple of motorbikes!

The whole city and areas around would not really work without lots of motorbikes and drivers, they bring out the food, parcels and people 24/7!

You will find almost all modes of transport here, and especially the canal and river boats are worth checking out. This is from one of the busiest crossings.

Although a lot of the city center has changed quite a bit the past decade it is of course still possible to walk through small alleyways and districts full of tiny stalls, or certainly visit any temple in a respectful way!

Bangkok also has its green lungs and parks, some of which feel as if the big city is far away... Bang Krachao has rentals for bicycles, or you can of course bring your own!

And last but certainly not least I would like to mention the opportunity that often comes along to listening to senior, English speaking teacher monks, mainly at Suan Mokh that is within Bangkok itself. It is free, also for walking around in the garden or even bringing home some of the writings of Buddhadhasa :-) Donations are strongly suggested from me, of course...

That is it for now! What aspects might you like to see more about? Is there anything else you would like to see from here?
