There are some blessings that God wants to release to you as gifts for you to carry.
Before he puts them in you, he's got to change your mind. Which leads us to point two, he has to change what you're identified by. Notice he told her husband, Abraham, to start addressing his wife as Sarah. As the church, we are called the bride of Christ.
And because God knows you by name, because before you were in your mother's womb, he already knew who you were. Your identity in Christ is not your identity in the world. You have to stop responding to the names that people call you that are not the identity that God gave you.
How can he bless you with something and you don't even know who you are? Which leads us to point three, he has to change your identity.
The Bible tells us that once we accept Christ as our Savior, we become new creations in Christ. So every time he wants to release something to you, you have to become new in him.
What does this mean?
You can't respond to situations the same way. You can't hang with certain people, or do certain things like you used to do no more. If you want something new, you got to do something different to get something you never got.
Before God blesses you with the promise, he has to make sure you're no longer responding to your old name. You can't keep looking back when somebody calls you out by your past. You can't keep looking back at the miscarriage and all the things that failed.
And when I say miscarriage, that might mean spiritually, but that also might mean naturally. Your trauma is your testimony. You might have miscarried the mantle in another season or have failed the test a couple times. But God is saying, I need you to look forward because you are not your past.
I need you to answer as who I've called you to be to carry this next blessing. Live like you already got it.
