My Mother, My Best Friend

If one has to thread through the picture of my life, then it cannot be denied that the brightest and most endearing fabric is that which represents my mother.

She is not only my parent but my friend who knows me like the back of his or her hand, and no one else will ever come to know me as well as they do.

She was the first person in the world who breathed for me and with her love and good advice has been accompanying me along the different stages of this maze called Life.

For me the blessing of my kind friendship with her is something I hold dearly in my heart. Unlike typical relationships, where the intensity decreases with time, this is not noticeable in our friendship.

She knows my quietness and rigorously apprehends my happiness as if it was her own one. She is the one who brings hope to the hearts even in our darkest hours and whisper in our ears that everything will be okay. She simply listens, and her words to me are never anything but well-thought and based on a very deep knowledge of me.

It is a connection spiced by late night conversations, quick last minute jamborees and the seemingly ordinary yet everything but ordinary, ordinary routine.

She has made me understand humility, tolerance, and endurance knowing that these are the most important things in life and not just as theory, but in real life. It’s the manner she handles the rhapsodies as well as the adversities of life that have actually served as the strong and enduring motivation.

I love my mother’s friend predominantly because the object of such friendship is the kind of love which does not require any form of repayment in future.

She is aware of all my flaws and all the wrong things that I have ever done and still, she accepts me. This is the kind of love that literally wraps someone up and shields them from the world,

one will not have to pretend or try to be someone else because they will be accepted as they are. The confidence she has put in me has given me confidence in myself and no matter what the outcome of the truth, I know she will always be by my side.

Looking at the years I realize how much I value the relation we share, how deep it really is. Things that my mother does are quite admirable and that is why I can not write this kind of essay about her.

She is my best friend, my role model because she has been there for me all the time and supporting me. To her, she is just lifetime friend but I have decided to treasure her the rest of my life.

Words cannot express how lucky I feel in calling her my mother and how grateful I am for the opportunity of regarding her as my best friend.
