    Hello, Hiver friends!

During our trip in Albay, we didn't miss stopping by Daraga Church and attending Sunday Mass.

This church, made mainly of volcanic rocks, was built after the Cagsawa church was ruined by the major volcanic eruption of Mayon Volcano. It was built on top of Santa Maria Hill, overlooking the Mayon Volcano, which happened to be hiding in thick clouds during our visit.

After the mass concluded, we waited for the churchgoers to clear out so we could take a picture of the church exterior and its surroundings, still hoping the Mayon would show up in the background. Our request wasn't granted, as only the base of the volcano is visible in all our photos.

My mom took her time posing for photos because it was her first time visiting there; oh, actually, it was all our first time being there, and we couldn't stop admiring the structural design of the church.

The church is listed as a National Cultural Treasure by the National Museum of the Philippines.

    ♥️♥️♥️
