The main idea of the book has it that there was a village known as Umuagu village. The village is the kind every other village will like to be because they people of the village love themselves to the extent they can unit together to fight other communities who they may see as a threat. Everything about the community is of good. There's a school known as Umuagu community high school with a good and caring teacher known as Godswill. Mr Godswill is that teacher who knows all his students from their academic performance and historical background. So Umuagu community high school has their best student known as Tochi and the boy was also the best in the community but his measure challenge is that he is from a very poor background that couldn't even pay his fees not of money for feeding.
Because of how poor Tochi family was his Father Nzeka was chased out from the community elders in council even his mother was also chased out by the community women's association. Tochi couldn't pay his school fees and even to feed but because of how caring his teacher Godswill is the man took it upon himself to train Tochi even to the extent of paying for his WAEC. Tochi later graduated from his secondary school but they was no money again for him to study further.
Umuagu community came together and sponsored Tochi to abroad in United States of America. Tochi got to USA thinking as people taught that when you travel to USA everything becomes good but right there Tochi realized no food for the lazy as he started sleeping under a bridge close to a restaurant. one day Tochi slept off forgetting he used to wake up very early before people start coming out from their house. That day One miss Vanessa was already eating at the restaurant close to the bridge so Tochi was shy and scared to come out from the bridge so when he tried to hide miss Vanessa saw him and from there discussion wqa done. This was how Vanessa helped Tochi to work in his father's company and Touchi worked for 10 years before realizing he needs to study Medicine to become a medical doctor.
After years in school Tochi married to Vanessa and also graduated as the best medicine student. Later Vanessa father established a hospital for Tochi. This is how Tochi grow from nothing to somebody as he later have many hospitals of his own in USA. Tochi and his wife became very happy as Tochi later came back to Nigeria with a gift of car, money for his parents and teacher Godswill. Tochi later offered every youths of her community #500,000 each and sponsored 10 people to the USA.
