Today we have another EPIC Battle to talk about!
I have been in a rut with Splinterlands. I have lost more games then I care to admit and I also just started to feel like it was a pure grind with no joy. That was until I started to buy more cards on secondary and level up certain cards. Now with a better foundation I am battling better and getting higher rankings (at least this season).
But with that I knew I needed to start to pay attention more to my strategy and my overall mindset to the game. It wasn't until I started to document all the Abilities and Rulesets/Modifiers, that I think I really started to understand the game dynamics more. I am battling and starting to really think about what cards to play and where to put them in the lineup. I am trying to be intentional with all of that based on all the previous battles I have done.
Battle Info
That is why this particular battle stood out to me. I put a lot of time into the units I was picking and what order I was going to place them in.

The battle was "Up Close and Personal" meaning only Melee units.
Also 28 Mana was the max.
I knew I was going 'Death' element because I just upgraded my Cursed Windeku and my Dolfar Darkflak cards to level 2.

My Team
1st Position was Cursed Windeku because he has 10 health but also has 'Thorns' which means any melee attack against him would do 2 damage to the opponent as well. And since this was a full Melee battle I knew this was the only 1st position card I could reasonably pick.

2nd Position was Shadow Snitch. And he was picked because he has "Reach" ability so he can attack from the 2nd position. I knew if my opponent had Cursed Windeku in their first position this would stink but didn't have much options here.

3rd Position was Silent Sha-Vi because of his 'Sneak' ability to attack the card in the last position. That with his 2 melee damage I knew was a good choice.

4th Position I wanted another sneak card so I went with Fenmoor Haunt because well sneak and 2 melee damage was key!

5th Position was Disintegrator only because he has 6 HP and 2 shield and has 'Demoralize' ability that reduces the opponents melee damage by 1. This was going to be key because Thorns does 2 damage back on Cursed Windeku so if he was attacked by 1 melee damage he would return 2 damage. That was my strategy.

Summoner: I also went with Dolfar Darflak instead of Thaddius Brood because Thasdius cost 1 more mana and his abilities were to reduce health by 1 and reduce magic attack by 1 to your opponent. I didn't need magic attack reduced because this was a only Melee battle. The -1 health would have been nice but I rather save the 1 mana for a stronger Unit card because I didn't know how many unit cards they would have.
Without further ado though lets get into it!
Round 1
And my opponent went with Thaddius Brood because they always do. What I was surprised about was their choice not to use Cursed Windeku. I feel like everyone uses him on death battles but win for me.
Besides that I was not to impressed with his overall team but we shall see who wins.
Round 2
I didn't lose any troops in Round 1 and quite honestly didn't take too much damage. They lost their 1st position 'Corpse Fiend' but he was just a meat shield anyways for them.
Speed is on my side and Cursed Windeku is still going strong so I am not worried.
Round 3
Still going strong! I just need to wipe out his Silent Sha-Vi and then I am in the home stretch!
Round 4
It's over folks. By the start of Round 4 its a done deal. I didn't lose any troops and I clean sweeped my opponent. I am not the best player out there not even top 1,000 honestly but I am starting to pick up some strategy and I hope you like my battle as much as I did!
