It would be nice to enjoy the sun sometimes. Like this weekend, which the only chance I got, we went out early in the morning to have a walk, then have a coffee afterwards. The perfect place to walk, then have coffee and enjoy the morning sun all at once, is at the Old Airport, of course.
As I said before in my previous blogs, there are some stores and cafe that serves coffee and foods here. Early in the morning, they serve breakfast and lunch, then snacks in the afternoon but the coffee is throughout the daytime. We started walking going there around 5:00 am, so that it wouldn't be too hot to walk back after.
On the eastern side of the horizon, the orange hues of sunrise are gradually fading away and the dark surroundings brightens in every step that we took towards the destination. A lot of scenarios can be witnessed at this hour just like the walking elderly, people jogging for few laps, fish vendors selling on the middle of the road, and those that interests me most here are the wildflowers and the animals.
Just take a look at this cow and its calf, it's very tamed for it to face me when it notice that I was taking a picture of them both.
And this little cat was the luckiest, the fish vendor gave it a fish that it could feast for breakfast.
The store was bustling at this hour. The tables and chairs beside it was mostly occupied by the locals who lives outside the walls of this old airport's runway. They are having breakfast and coffee while viewing the sea waves and some even bring their cups beside the rocks on the seaside to feel the morning salty breeze.
We did ordered our cups, too while waiting for the in-laws who are sweetly holding each other's hands while walking. The sun was finally out in the sky that's we can't hide from it anymore since there wasn't a lot of shades here to take shelter with. But that's okay, it's not scorching hot yet and I think, the sunlight could be still be considered as vitamins.
That's just right for me since everyone is saying that I should get that sometimes because I'm often working at night, the sleeping soundly in the morning. Honestly, that felt great. I think I became a normal human again after such a long time. We enjoyed basking in the morning sun and listening to the waves while drinking our coffee.
"So that was what it felt like to feel the sun..." Sure enough, that simple walk and morning coffee was enjoyable. I really wish I could get a lot of this in a week because I'm getting more sickly since I started working. Anyhow, that was a well-spent rest day for me.
This would be another #WednesdayWalk entry for this week to my favorite walking community by Sir @tattoodjay.
