Good Monday, friends of the needles! This time I come motivated by another special story, in the end everything we create with our hands, has a special touch and love on our part. That's why today I want to tell you that I'm making pennants to give as gifts.

¡Buen lunes, amigas de las agujas! Esta vez vengo motivada por otra historia especial, al final todo lo que creamos con nuestras manos, tiene un toque especial y de amor de nuestra parte. Por eso hoy quiero contarles que estoy haciendo banderines para regalar.
If you don't remember, I summarize it here, after making my murga costume with a lot of patience and little knowledge, I didn't finish it and I broke my wrist. Two of my friends from the murga lent me parts of their previous costumes and thanks to both of them (and of course, to the whole team of more than 90 people) my motivation did not waver and I enjoyed a beautiful month together with a new and charming group. A shining human group and I believe that this is returned with love, and this gesture is only of gratitude and recognition to those who love me and love me.

Si no se acuerdan, lo resumo aquí, después de estar haciendo mi traje de murga con mucha paciencia y poco conocimiento, no llegué a finalizarlo y me quebré la muñeca. Dos de mis amigas de la murga me prestaron partes de sus trajes anteriores y gracias a las dos (y claro, a todo el equipo de más de 90 personas) no flaquee mi motivación y disfruté un hermoso mes junto a un grupo nuevo y encantador. Un grupo humano reluciente y creo que esto se devuelve con amor, y este gesto solo es de agradecimiento y de reconocimiento a los que quiero y me quieren.
From that moment I said I would make them something to give as a gift, and this idea was going around for a while, until I started. At the same time I never made a garland of anything with shapes, much less, woven! Although the idea of pennants is simple, I got complicated on two occasions, one of them when I changed the thickness of the cotton thread, and another when I lost the pattern I was following and tried another one, so some were a little bigger and others a little smaller.

Desde ese momento dije que les haría algo para regalar, y esta idea estuvo dando vueltas por un tiempo, hasta que comencé. A la vez que tampoco hice nunca una guirnalda de algo con formas, y mucho menos, tejida! Si bien la idea de banderines es sencilla, me compliqué en dos oportunidades, una de ellas cuando cambié el grosor del hilo de algodón, y otra de ellas cuando perdí el patrón que estaba siguiendo y probé con otro, entonces algunos quedaron un poco más grandes y otros un poquito más pequeños.

I think the detail is minimal to the final result, and I hope you like this surprise. Next weekend we will have our first rehearsal of the year and I will be returning their costumes and this gift included. For now I have only one of the garlands, so I have a few days left to make the other one.

Creo que el detalle es mínimo para el resultado final, y espero que les guste esta sorpresa. El fin de semana próximo tendremos nuestro primer ensayo del año y voy a devolver sus trajes y este regalo incluído. Por ahora tengo una sola de las guirnaldas, así que me quedan unos días para hacer la otra.
The hardest part for me, actually based on my own difficulty, is doing the finishing touches, always. Joining the remaining loops, cutting the final thread, knotting and even joining all the triangles together. I know it's simple, with a few simple chains I manage to join them together and even decide how long that garland will be, but it's totally a state of mind where I don't feel assiduous or comfortable. Finishing projects stresses me out more than starting them, I tend to think that if I fail here, everything before that won't look right, and I'm practicing and encouraging myself to finish them with joy. It's what I know how to do, and if for some reason it doesn't look good, I'll keep learning.

La parte más difícil para mí, en realidad basado en mi propia dificultad, es hacer los acabados, siempre. Unir los lazos que restan, cortar el hilo final, anudar e incluso unir todos los triángulos. Sé que es sencillo, con unas simples cadenas logro unirlas y hasta decidir el largo que tendrá esa guirnalda, pero es totalmente un estado mental donde no me siento asidua o cómoda. Finalizar los proyectos me estresa más que comenzarlos, suelo pensar que si fallo aquí, todo lo anterior no quedará bien, y estoy practicando y animándome a concluirlos con alegría. Es lo que sé hacer, y si por algún motivo no quedara bien, seguiré aprendiendo.

As details of this work, I want to tell you that I chose varied colors, that may or may not match, but that denote joy. I could have used exclusively the colors of the murga, and at the same time it seems to me that the joy is entirely of the carnival and what I wanted to show to a greater extent is that. The colors in carnival are a rainbow, and each group chooses the ones that have given them the most identity.

Como detalles de este trabajo, quiero contarles que elegí colores variados, que combinen o no, pero que denoten alegría. Podría haber usado exclusivamente los colores de la murga, y a la vez me parece que la alegría es íntegramente del carnaval y lo que quería demostrar en mayor medida es eso. Los colores en carnaval son un arcoiris, y cada grupo elige los que mayor identidad le han dado.
