When we had a pandemic, many people were losing their jobs and some companies found it very hard to retain their employees. Globally, many businesses were affected. The IT industry was the only industry that survived because there was an option to work from home. Other people who are mainly dependent on field work as their day to day work got affected heavily. Some people lost their job and some people even lost their lives.
This was the time when some people started exploring alternative source of income and a self sustaining life. There was a big awareness created on a sustainable lifestyle. Many people started moving towards that type of lifestyle. People started growing plants in their roof top garden, and they started cultivating their vegetables and fruits at home. Some were very successful, and for some people it took years of persistence to be very successful.
Alternative jobs
Not just creating our food but many people also started exploring alternative methods to create income than just relying on one source of income. Many people understood that it was dangerous to rely on just one job alone. Of course, having one concrete job was good and dedicating the time to that job is the best thing to do, but what if there are no backup plans? Today the IT industry is confused because of the AI and what AI can do. Many companies are very conservative about increasing their head count and they would like to invest more on AI and find out how AI can help their business.
YouTube is a great source of income and during Covid, many people started their YouTube channel and started vlogging their day-to-day activities. Some people selected a specific genre and started creating content on that specific genre but some people created videos on random topics. Today some of those YouTubers have created a brand of their own and have become very popular. Whatever they were doing outside Youtube, they have quit and started relying on the income generated from social media channels.
Takes time to kick off
Sometimes we need a lot of persistence and it may not be easy to earn a lot of money overnight. But from our end if we keep on putting the efforts, one fine day the efforts can give the fruit that we deserve. This is the lesson we can learn from those successful YouTubers. I specifically admire some youtube channels and have been following a few channels. Today there are so many people similar to that and it is one of the hottest businesses and a passive income source for people.
For those who have just started doing something. I would like to say that stay strong as sometimes it takes time to get started but once it gets started, the journey will be amazing. I have a few plans for my own exploration. I'm yet to start something but hopefully, if not right now, I hope something becomes sustainable after a few years at least.
