Scriptures: Matthew 19:6, Isaiah 58:6, 1 Corinthians 7:3-5, Hebrews 13:4, Matthew 5:28, Matthew 6:16
Marriage is something that was created by God. According to how God structured marriage, the man is supposed to be above the woman. That's the appropriate manner that should be observed by a man and a woman who is married.
Marriage symbolizes the relationship between Christ and the church. We all know that Christ is the head and we–who are His bride–are beneath Him.
A wife is supposed to be submissive to a her husband; that is the most important quality of a wife. A woman that lacks respect for her husband, or neglects his instructions is not doing the will of God as pertaining to marriage.
The sole duty of a wife is to be submissive to her husband. She should be able to meet the demands of her husband whenever he requests for it.
1 Corinthians 7:4 - The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
When a man and a woman gets married, they both lose ownership over their bodies to each other. This means as a wife your body no longer belongs to you but to your husband, and as a husband your body no longer belongs to you but to your wife. The only exception that can be considered is contained in the scripture below:
1 Corinthians 7:5 - Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
It understandable in times of fasting and prayer to observe abstinence for that period of time. The manner by which a couple live their lives and relate with each other is of great concern to God, that's why couples should behave in the right manner.
