🦉 The great tit (Parus major)

    • Parus (lat.) Tit
    • major (lat.) large

Already now in the forests you can see the mating games of these (and not only) birds. Males sing songs to attract females, or to defend and mark their territory. And females who find males find out their capabilities and test them. This is expressed in the form of a game. The female pretends to be a fledgling, she flutters her wings and screams like a fledgling, so she begs for food from the male.

However, not all of them fly away through the forests; some pairs remain to live in the city, in parks and courtyards. The parks are full of feeders and people who replenish them.
A couple flies to my window, I treat them with nuts. And I noticed that sometimes one male arrives. He takes the peanut, flies away, and a few seconds later flies back. Which makes it clear that he first took the nut for his female, and then took it for himself.
