Everyone knows that Indonesia is full of uniqueness, especially in the culinary world. Almost every region in Indonesia has a special dish, for example in the Minang region, namely rendang, in the Betawi region there is soto and in East Java there is Rawon.

From the three examples above, I have tried them, but this time I was at one of the famous restaurants and the one that many people often talk about, Rawon Rampal, in the city of Malang, East Java.

It's a wrap! Finally I tried Rawon, one of the foods that made me curious because the color of this soup is different from other soups. The broth is black, comes from kluwek which is the most important thing in making Rawon. Honestly, I liked this food from the first time I tasted it on my tongue. At the first bite, it made me feel like I was in love.

No wonder many people say, if you go to Malang or anywhere in East Java, you must try Rawon. So, because I was so curious, I tried the most delicious of all the ratings. Of course, looking for it from the closest to the hotel where I stayed. The answer is Rawon Rampal.

    Choose one, Rawon or Rampal?

Apparently, Rawon here is famous to the point that the fifth and sixth presidents of Indonesia have been to this restaurant. The proof is in several photos displayed on the wall and made a source of pride. Although this restaurant looks very simple, a President would not hesitate to come here to taste the taste of Rawon Rampal.

Indeed, its specialty is Rawon and Rampal. Rawon is in liquid form (because it is made from bone broth and spices) while rampal is meat that is boiled until tender and then grilled or smoked until it has a rich taste.

Rawon will be eaten with rice, tempeh which is then poured into one place. But actually there are many ways to eat rawon, but it is most delicious eaten together. Well, in rawon, we get fiber from unique bean sprouts, because the size is very small. Just add chili sauce, then the taste will be spicier and rich in Indonesian flavors.

Likewise with Rampal, eaten with rice and also a potato croquette. This will make it taste very good, but I like to add a little rawon sauce to make it more delicious. The smoky aroma of rampal is indeed very powerful, similar to brisket. Can it be called brisket with a local Indonesian taste?

But, of course, enjoying these two foods cannot be far from iced tea which is quite aromatic. Oddly enough, in East Java there is tea with a very strong aroma, in fact I really like this because I am a tea lover with a very strong aroma, like something is missing if I drink tea without aroma. In addition, there are many food menus here, especially desserts that are already provided on the table.

So, do you prefer Rawon or Rampal? Let me know.
