The last picture I took and why #183

Hello beautiful ladies, welcome to a new and exciting week. I will the sharing the last picture I took and the reason behind the picture I took.

This was the last picture I took which was on Friday morning while I was at work. I slept hungry the previous night because there was no food at home to eat and I had no money to buy food. I am on my journey of being totally independent and for that reason, I refused to call my parents and ask for money.

I woke up so hungry and tired that morning with no hope of where my next meal is coming from. While leaving the house, my younger sister said to me "Bea, if anyone offers you food today, please collect." I smiled and asked her- how do you plan on getting food today? She replied "I'll sort myself out."

It's 27 minutes walk from my house to work. While walking, I was so pained that felt like crying. Hunger has a way of changing one's mood and charisma. The only thoughts that were going through my mind was how I was going to cope with today's Job. I work from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm everyday except for Saturdays and Sundays.

I got to the office 12 minutes late because of how slow I walked. When I sat down, my colleague came in with a bowl of noodles and invited me to join him. I really wanted to honor his invitation but the food looked small for two people to share. So I told him I won't be eating I am fine.

But deep within, I wanted eating because I was so hungry. The food looked great and the aroma was enticing.

About 50 minutes later, he came in again with a plate of boiled yam and egg sauce and dropped it on my table. "I know you love eating yam and egg. Since you refused eating the noodles, you must eat this one. I am not asking you I am telling you." He said.

Why is the egg sauce this small? I teasingly asked smiling. I don't blame you he replied.

This was an answered prayer for me. At least I have what to eat for breakfast. I hurriedly asked him to take pictures of me with the food so I can show my sister what I ate in the office today. After taking pictures, I microwaved the food and ate. I felt so alive and hopeful after eating. Amazingly, he shared his dinner with me before closing hours.

When I got home, I saw my sister lying so hungry on the bed. I felt sorry for her but there was nothing I could do at that point. She later called our parents that evening and they sent us money to get food stuff for the house.

My mum laughed at me when my sister narrated my story to her. Now everyone at home calls me an Independent-beggar meanwhile I did not beg for that food. It was offered to me.

The funniest name I have heard

When in secondary school, I had this class mate whose name was ENOUGH. I asked her why she was named enough because the name was not only strange to me but the entire school. She narrated her story to the class one fateful day why she was named enough.

Her mom gave birth to 12 children and she is the last child. Her parents were on the quest of getting a male child. They needed a son so badly and anytime the mom was pregnant, they'll all pray for the child to be a male but it ends up being a female. That went on for year. The number kept increasing but they were still hopeful. When her mom was pregnant for her, the doctor confirmed it was a boy and the parents were supper excited that finally, they were going to have a male child. But sadly, the baby came out as a female. The dad was heart broken and named her ENOUGH. Meaning they are done trying. The girls are enough.

That was a hell of story and reason for her name.

Thanks for stopping by. PS, all the pictures were taking with my phone.
