Before Jesus began His work on earth, He spent 40 days and nights in the wilderness, praying and fasting. After this, He was baptized by John the Baptist. This was an important moment because God's Spirit came upon Him for the first time as He started His mission. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus said:
"Go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
Baptism is very important for Christians. It shows obedience to God and unity with Him. Jesus wanted His followers to experience this sacred act, just as He did. His disciples followed His example, setting a tradition for all believers. In 1 Corinthians 12:13, the Bible says:
"For by one Spirit, we are all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, slaves or free; we all share the same Spirit."
This verse shows that baptism unites all believers into the body of Christ, no matter their background.
The Bible also teaches us to respect God and honor His name. Psalms 139:20 says:
"They speak against You wickedly, and Your enemies misuse Your name."
This reminds us to treat God's name with reverence. Baptism helps us align with God's purpose, bringing us closer to Him. Ephesians 4:14 encourages us to stand firm in our faith:
Baptism is a sign of our commitment to God and unity with His church. After Jesus went to heaven, He gave His disciples the Great Commission, instructing them to share the gospel and baptize all nations (Matthew 28:19). Baptism remains a key part of Christian faith. In 2 Chronicles 7:16, God says:
"I have chosen and made this house holy so My name will be there forever. My eyes and heart will always be there."
Through baptism, believers dedicate themselves to God. It represents obedience, unity, and devotion to Christ, following His eternal plan.
