El Calvario es un lugar muy emblemático de la ciudad de Caracas, es un lugar muy colonial con mucha historia, y aunque es un parque algo nuevo por el hecho de que esta remodelado y recuoerado ya que mi mamá y mis tias me han dicho que eso no estaba así cuando ellas eran jóvenes, se ha convertido es un buen espacio recreativo para los caraqueños.
After 11 years living in Caracas I was finally able to visit ✨El Calvario✨. At the beginning of the year my family went, just the day of my birthday to be specific, but that day I was feeling very bad and I could not go with them 😥 so I had that thorn and finally I could get it out 😂.
El Calvario is a very emblematic place in the city of Caracas, it is a very colonial place with a lot of history, and although it is a somewhat new park due to the fact that it is remodeled and renovated since my mom and my aunts have told me that it was not like that when they were young, it has become a good recreational space for the people of Caracas.

Fui con mi mamá y una tía de nosotras que para mi es una abuelita más. Llegamos y aunque lo más famoso del calvario son sus escaleras súper largas yo no estaba dispuesta a subir todo eso sobre todo con el sol tan intenso que había, así que decidimos irnos por el otro lado por dónde suben los carros y es incluso más bonito.
Empezando el parque está el "Arco de la Federación" muy parecido al "Arco del Triunfo" (o a mi me dió esas vibras) ubicado en París, este es un homenaje a la guerra federal y en la cima de el tiene la imagen de la victoria, simplemente muy emblemático.
Fuimos en un día de semana por lo que no había tanta gente lo que me parecía fantástico ya que el ambiente estaba mucho más tranquilo, fresco y agradable, habían perritos, gente haciendo ejercicio o simplemente paseando, hasta había una chica estudiando 😂.
I went with my mom and one of our aunts, who for me is just another grandmother. We arrived and although the most famous of the Calvary are its super long stairs I was not willing to climb all that especially with the intense sun, so we decided to go on the other side where the cars go up and it is even more beautiful.
Starting the park is the "Arc de la Federation" very similar to the "Arc de Triomphe" (or it gave me those vibes) located in Paris, this is a tribute to the federal war and at the top of it has the image of victory, just very emblematic.
We went on a weekday so there were not so many people which I thought was great because the atmosphere was much quieter, fresh and pleasant, there were dogs, people exercising or just walking around, there was even a girl studying 😂.

A medida que íbamos subiendo ya se estaba a notar una vista increíble del centro de la ciudad, con sus altos edificios y montañas que solo caracas es privilegiada de tener. También nos encontramos con distintas estructuras y estatuas cada una con un estilo muy europeo.
Una de mis favoritas fue la plaza "El Parnaso" me hizo sentir como si estuviera en Roma, siento que es lo que más tiene aires europeos, es increíble como todo allí es armonioso y simplemente elegante, un lugar muy bonito sin duda. También está La Capilla de Lourdes, una Capilla abandonada que según los cuentos se siente una vibra espantosa y espeluznante según la terrible historia que arrastra dicha capilla. El sacerdote supuestamente se quitó la vida allí luego de cometer un delito contra una chica.
Llegamos a dónde está la vista mas linda, todo el centro de Caracas ✨ sus edificios más antiguos y los más modernos, aquí tuve la dicha de escuchar las historias de mi tia y mi mamá de cuando vivían por esa zona y de todo lo que en su momento había y no había como por ejemplo todas las nuevas edificaciones, todas las anécdotas y cuentos urbanos sobre los edificios y calles mas antiguas, ese momento si que valía oro.
As we were going up we were already noticing an incredible view of the city center, with its tall buildings and mountains that only Caracas is privileged to have. We also came across different structures and statues, each with a very European style.
One of my favorites was the "El Parnaso" square, it made me feel as if I was in Rome, I feel that it is the one with more European airs, it is incredible how everything there is harmonious and simply elegant, a very nice place without a doubt.
We arrived to where the most beautiful view is, all the center of Caracas ✨ its oldest and most modern buildings, here I had the joy of listening to the stories of my aunt and my mom when they lived in that area and everything that at the time there was and there was not such as all the new buildings, all the anecdotes and urban stories about the oldest buildings and streets, that moment was worth gold.

Habían parquesitos para los niños y los no tan niños (como yo) 😂 con toboganes, columpios y otras atracciones y mesitas con bancos para sentarse a pasar el rato. El parque tiene un cafetín pero ese día como era feriado no estaba trabajando, asi que no pude disfrutar de un café en el calvario 🥺. Por todo el parque habían muchas estatuas sobre Simón Bolívar, Teresa Carreño, Simón Rodríguez, entre otros. Muchos personajes históricos y emblemáticos para Venezuela.
Después de recorrer un poco más nos fuimos, yo iba maravillada de lo lindo que era todo. Y como mencioné no pudimos tomar o comer nada ya que el cafetín estaba cerrado así que nos fuimos a comer uno de los mejores golfeados que tiene Caracas en este momento (en mi opinión) y pasamos un rato más hablando sobre cualquier cosa y disfrutando de lo que esas tres generaciones muy diferentes podían aportar.
There were playgrounds for the kids and the not so kids (like me) 😂 with slides, swings and other attractions and little tables with benches to sit and hang out. The park has a cafe but that day as it was a holiday I wasn't working, so I couldn't enjoy a coffee in the calvary 🥺. All over the park there were many statues about Simón Bolívar, Teresa Carreño, Simón Rodríguez, among others. Many historical and emblematic characters for Venezuela.
After walking around a bit more we left, I was in awe of how nice everything was. And as I mentioned we couldn't drink or eat anything since the cafe was closed so we went to eat one of the best golfeados that Caracas has at the moment (in my opinion) and spent some more time talking about anything and enjoying what those three very different generations could bring.

El calvario tiene tanta belleza que sin duda no será la única vez que yo esté alli y para la próxima prometo subir las escaleras 😂.
