Paracress flowers

Paracress, also known as Acmella oleracea or "toothache plant," is a unique flowering herb native to South America. It’s recognized for its small, round, yellow-and-red flowers, often called "buzz buttons" or "electric daisies." When consumed, these flowers create a tingling, numbing sensation on the tongue and gums, which has made them traditionally useful in folk medicine as a remedy for toothache pain. The plant contains a compound called spilanthol, responsible for this numbing effect. Aside from its medicinal uses, paracress is sometimes incorporated in culinary contexts, particularly in salads, cocktails, and even as a garnish for unique dishes due to its peppery flavor and the sensation it creates.
