As an upcoming musician, I listen to all genres of music and derive inspiration from as many sources as I can(from classical music to rap/hip-hop, and everything in between), but I don't think any genre really touches my soul like The Blues does.
There's just something about those minor chords that really speak to the deepest recesses of my soul. There is a quote by the industry legend who recently passed away, Quincy Jones(the producer of Michael Jackson's 1984 Thriller album) where he said “Your art can never be more or less than you are as a person.” I do believe this to be true, and if it is indeed true, then I must feel blue a lot coz I absolutely adore the blues.
I also think my editing skills still leave a lot to be desired, but they really have improved over time and I am so proud of the progress I'm making on all fronts.
