The Scream: Reciprocity.

Time stood still, and so did I,
The whispers of words unknown filled my mind,
I could feel it even before you said the word,
I don't know why each word heard hurt so much,
But I do know I once liked the storm in your eyes,.
Not anymore because I can see you clearly now.

It all happened with life and lies,
Birthed by the society even before we were born,
We were bred in it and grew in the rain and storm it brings,
Bathe in it and defecate in the shallow made from it,
We were taught to abide by it because with it, there's victory.
Lies upon lies that don't seem to end.

I have heard stories of how things truly work,
The give and take of lives it is called,
Whatever you give, you'll receive in tons,
But I have never seen that happened to the deeds done before,
Or, maybe Karma has found a better way to heed the call.

Karma! The word that is meant to put fear in men,
But even in it presence, men still go to war,
Raping and killing whoever comes their way,
With the screams of the maiden never seems to end,
I still find it hard to believe if Karma truly cares.

    Reciprocity, the maiden's lips cursed,
You shall receive all that you've given me in tons,
And so the warrior laughed with rotten teeth and said,
I don't give a shithole what happens to me,
And I think Karma heard it because it made it a ripple effect,
On the people that he seems to care about.

But is that truly fair? The curse of one man?
And the generational ripple effect gotten from the word reciprocity,
Why should it be like that? I once asked my Sensei,
And he replied in words I have never heard of,
That is how I found myself here, understanding things better,
Knowing whatever I do will be received by my offspring.

And with that, I looked towards the sky as I toiled endlessly,
Glad I could see the light in people who are damned,
And not hurt them because they did hurt me,
Never cursed them because they cursed me,
Love filled my heart towards them,
And I think they must have felt it, because now, they can see me clearly.
