I bought two pots of viola at a market for the first time in a very long time. One euro per pot. Even inflation is going on, I am grateful that plants are still affordable. I notice Germany is a gardening nation 😊
I had a planter with no plants since purslane died during the sub zero days. So I planted them there. I'm happy to see it looks a little more spring-like now with the violas with flowers.
Viola flowers are and can be found sometimes in salad mixes here in Germany. I'm thinking of turning this planter into a salad planter by sowing salad green seeds after it gets a bit warmer next month.
Inside the house, the magnolia buds are about to open, which I bought at the request of my daughter. She was fasciated by the large long branch. I cut it into three pieces so that it fits in my vase and kitchen.
In Germany, not a few houses have magnolias in their gardens, and the beautiful large pink flowers are blooming here and there in early spring. If I could have a garden someday, I would like to plant a magnolia tree.
Oh, yes, the home-grown edible chrysanthemum seeds I wrote about in my Sunday's weekly garden journal have started to germinate. I was so happy to see them sprouting when I took a look at the pot this morning.
The chrysanthemum leaves are taste of winter in Japan. I miss it a lot here. I wonder why I didn't try like this earlier. I hope I can cook miso soup or hot pot with the leaves before it gets too warm.
Such was my little gardening on a weekday. I woke up at 4am today and now I'm going to take a nap.

マーケットでビオラが売られていたので、ものすごく久しぶりに2鉢買いました。1鉢1ユーロ（160円ほど）でさすがガーデニング大国ドイツ、物価は上がっていても植物は買いやすい値段でありがたいです。
スベリヒユがマイナス気温が続いた時にさすがに枯れてしまい、抜いたあと何も植えていなかった寂しいプランターが一つあったのでそこにさっそく植えました。少しだけ春っぽくなったかな？
ビオラの花はエディブルフラワーでサラダミックスに入っていることもあり、もう少し暖かくなったら周りに葉物の種をまいて、このプランターはサラダプランターにしようかなと考えています。
家の中では、子供のリクエストで買ってきたマグノリアのつぼみが開こうとしています。ものすごく大きな枝だったので、枝切りばさみに3つに切り分けて飾りました。
ドイツでは庭にマグノリアを植えている家が少なくなく、春先はきれいな大きなピンクの花がそこここで咲いています。いつか庭を持つことができたらマグノリアの木を植えたいです。
そうそう、日曜日のガーデンジャーナルに書いた自家採取の春菊の種が無事発芽し始めました。今朝鉢をを覗いたら芽が出ていてうれしかったです。
暖かくなる前に春菊のお味噌汁やお鍋や食べられるといいな。それにしても春菊大好きにもかかわらず、何で今までこうやって屋内で育てることを考えなかったのでしょう。でも今始めたからまあいいか。
そんなこんなの平日の小さなガーデニングでした。今日は朝4時台に起きてしまい、これから昼寝をします😅
